Chet Edwards?

The veepstakes enters the silly season.

I say draft Dale Bumpers.

What's your pick? First person to post the correct answer (as eventually revealed) wins a Hop super chili dog.

PS -- I just don't have a clue or opinion. I tend to think it won't be the one person in the U.S. who could bring some votes to the ticket -- HRC. Anybody else is going to seem ho-hum after all the hype.

HILLARY CLINTON

If we're going to obscure guesses, my 2nd guess will be Claude B. Nibbletts of Waxahachie, Texas. Why......gee.....I don't know....just picked it out of the Google phone book. Obama has to do something so the election won't look like a blow-out. I play Free Cell with one eye closed just to make it a little harder.

WESLEY CLARK

C. JARED TUCKER

Hillary Clinton would have been my other guess but DBI beat me to that.

Tim Kaine.

Hillary would be my first choice, followed by Wes Clark. But I'll say Tim Kaine because I love me some chilidogs.

I'll go with Biden. I'd pick Hillary, but you know, a chili dog is a chili dog.

Arthur J. Fonzarelli.

Seriously, 2 months ago if you'd have suggested that it was Hillary I would have said Obama sold out to everything he stood for. But now I'll have to say its 50/50. I won't like it, because its strictly a political move, and that's what I'd hoped he'd change... but I also want him to win. Machiavelli is having a field day in my brain. Which is the lesser of the two evils in this case?

Estes Kefauver...no, he's dead.

Joe Biden...

I know, I know. But talk about a great attack dog that knows his sh*t...

It's funny that you mention Kaine, hugh...a good liberal girlfriend was at the house last night and she just recently moved home from Virginia. She's a huge Obama supporter but has serious hangups with Kaine from his days as Mayor...for whatever that's worth...I'll see if I can get her to elaborate a little...

If it's not Biden I'd love to see Clark or Richardson. Let Hillary be the new Majority Leader and wield the force! If Obama doesn't win then she won't be damaged goods for 2012...

Richardson. I could go for a super chili dog right now.

Monroe Swartzlose

Sticking with my long shot guess, Mark Warner.

Sebelius or Sebellius (either one's fine with me)

just for the funny name factor
cuz' "experience = corrupt"
and let the "hounds" bark
from now 'til november

I'll go with a long shot: Jim Webb.

Evan Bayh.

Joe Biden is da Man for the job! Think of him as the Dem's answer to Dick Cheney, but with brains, class and a straight aim.

Joe Biden, cuz of all the activity at his home....Richardson for Sec of State.

Jesse Jackson....even with the vasectomy comment... Obama might be all donkey... but he is half honkey..... gotta make sure he gets the last .0005% of black people onboard. Hold your arrows, folks.... its just a joke.

jazzy, I agree circumstances seem to point to Biden. I wish it was Clark or Richardson.

Wonder how much shit-in-pants would happen if he chose Bill.

.
86 you punched my ticket.
LMAO!

Bill = WJC

Former US Senator Bill Bradley

Hillary Clinton

Hillary

Newt Gingrich?!!!?

Frankly, I am sick of the cheap theatrics of this vp contest. It won't be much of an issue with the demos in terms of making a difference in the election. I do agree that with the repubs it will be more of an issue. Miss hillary is toast and will left holding the bag with a large campaign debt. Rightfully so. If she is such a political genius and so beloved among the party faithful, how come she hasn't gotten much help on the debt? A genius doesn't get left holding the bag.

How can you draft bumpers, he is an old guy. I thought that old guys were persona non grata with you guys?

If Paul Begala is right and the Obama campaign didn't even vet Hillary nor consider her, there will be hell to pay from the PUMAS. I don't want Hillary in that job - Paul said he didn't either - but they said she was on the short list and if it gets out that they were just stringing everyone along, there will be problems and they shouldn't be unexpected.

I hope it's Biden and I hope they did consider and talk to Hillary - not for her sake but so that there will be some unity at the convention. We need this win and if our candidate did something to cause himself more problems, then as someone said the other day about the country deserving what we get if we elect another Repub, we would deserve the problems we get at the convention because we chose the candidate.

I also wouldn't mind Edwards all that much, but if Texas loses a Dem they are usually replaced by a Republican.

Drew Pritt.

How can you have UNITY at a convention that has one of the candidates(hillary) handing out hillary signs during the nomination process? PUMA doesn't spell UNITY.

Scarlett Johansson

The Hon. James Henry "Jim" Webb of Virginia. I'm gamblin' on Big Jim, since my first picks have done been took.

I'll swear...A-Red has a crush on Drew.

For the sake of unity, Obama should should pick a pro-life Republican like Mike Huckabee. It would show that he truly is a candidate of change.

Kim Hanke/ A Times letter writer years ago suggested him -"That nice young Kim Hanke- over the Huck, and time has proved the writer prescient

Not a crush on Drew, it's just that there are not many offices left that he hasn't "run" for.

Naw hugh, Ican't see Drew being A Red's type.

>>Frankly, I am sick of the cheap theatrics of this vp contest. It won't be much of an issue with the demos in terms of making a difference in the election. I do agree that with the repubs it will be more of an issue.< strange

Like with the Republicans the VP contest is a new level of Survivor.

.

Obama's VP is going to be Evan Bayh. Click on my name for the link to his website. www.obamabayh.com redirects to his website.

Dale Bumpers? Hell, he's almost as old as McCain!

Anyone else find it interesting that all the anti-gay republicans on here are obsessed with Pritt?

I say LU HARDIN. Although he is now a republican, he has proven he can switch to make the grade.

GARY HART !!!

if yer gonna play around
at least do it with some style and exquisite taste

Well hell, doesn't anyone remember Pritt's latest press release--thankfully reproduced by Max here--where he compared himself to Gandhi, Dr. MLK Jr. and Abe Lincoln, all rolled up into one balding, butter-toothed ball? Pritt is the greatest thing since Bean-O. He'll sweep the south for Obama after sharing a Gore-like kiss on stage at the convention with his lover, Mike Hathorn. After eight years of Obama/Pritt, he'll be set to run himself, with Chelsea Clinton as his running mate, and lead the nation into eight glorious years of prosperity after wiping out the national debt by writing a big check to China on Tim Hutchinson's bank account.

www.obamabayh.com was put up by a web company in Indiana. Anyone can point their site to any site they want.

I've heard that buddy villines is the stealth candidate for vp.

Since Hillary's taken -- dammit, DBI, ya musta been typin' as soon as Max posted -- I'll say Caroline Kennedy. Or maybe Maria Shriver?

How about rosanne barr? She is a female.

A- on that one Prouster. Exceeds all your previous posts. Aren't you thankful for Drew. Makes you shine.
.

How about ellen degenerate? With her you get a twofer.

I'm a Hillary fan.

She's taken for the chili dog.

My longshot is Al Gore.

It doesn't matter who obamayomama selects as vp. He can't win. Hillary will see to it that he is 'deep sixed' on election day. Do you really believe that she will let him win and lock her out of consideration in 2012? You people are from Arkansas. You know miss hillary.

Max......where's the friday night open line???????????

Michael Phelps...or Bill Richardson

Okay, someone already said Bill Richardson. How about Blanche Lincoln.

Nancy Pelosi. She's nominated herself to become the first botoxed female vice president.

Whomever it is has to be approved by her.

Arky

I might even vote for nancy 'savetheplanet' pelosi. That is one good looking woman. It is a shame that her brains are in a lower part of her anatomy.

I say he should pick Zell Miller then we can have a poll on which pundit, strategist, Repub, or Repub blogger's eyes bug-out farther during their denouncement of the choice!

Click

Hillary. If not, Kathleen Sibelius. Evan Bayh is unknown nationally and Joe Biden has an unsavory history.

You left out the Morman Tabernacle Choir.

I will share my chili dogs with everyone, you all can feel my chili dog. You know....I'd just fill my pants with joy.?..if Obama picked Bill Clinton. Imagine the nation's first black President and Vice President! Leave Hillary to be the lioness of the Senate and put Bill on a world tour of fence mending. The boy's restless, he needs a real job. He'd be a fantastic representative for America. Biden is a bag of wind. He's too much like McCain....talks a blue streak then votes the other way. The rest of the choices are a big blah.....I like Richardson, but very few get a woodie over him. I'm ready to get this show on the road!

I'm sick to my bone marrow of politics! Do any of you remember life before politics? I remember riding my bike and the Beatles and the next door neighbor's 1968 Caprice.....the rest is a blur. Do they still put centerfolds in magazines? Once the conventions are over I may lock myself up in the film room upstairs and watch those boxes of Betamax movies until it's time to vote. I'm so sorry I threw all those bags of my father's Valium away!

OK, the guy I wanted him to pick all along - Sam Nunn. Since he fell off the radar I sorta got used to Biden, while praying for Hillary. Didn't there used to be a strong suspicion 2 from Senate couldn't win? Maybe I made that up, but..........................Sam!

Alfred E. Newman?

And no, he ain't worried.

Archaeopteryx wins the chili dog.

I don't like chili dogs anymore.

*pout*

Obama/Biden... say that three times fast.
