Chet Edwards?
The veepstakes enters the silly season.
I say draft Dale Bumpers.
What's your pick? First person to post the correct answer (as eventually revealed) wins a Hop super chili dog.
PS -- I just don't have a clue or opinion. I tend to think it won't be the one person in the U.S. who could bring some votes to the ticket -- HRC. Anybody else is going to seem ho-hum after all the hype.

HILLARY CLINTON
If we're going to obscure guesses, my 2nd guess will be Claude B. Nibbletts of Waxahachie, Texas. Why......gee.....I don't know....just picked it out of the Google phone book. Obama has to do something so the election won't look like a blow-out. I play Free Cell with one eye closed just to make it a little harder.

Arthur J. Fonzarelli.
Seriously, 2 months ago if you'd have suggested that it was Hillary I would have said Obama sold out to everything he stood for. But now I'll have to say its 50/50. I won't like it, because its strictly a political move, and that's what I'd hoped he'd change... but I also want him to win. Machiavelli is having a field day in my brain. Which is the lesser of the two evils in this case?

Joe Biden...
I know, I know. But talk about a great attack dog that knows his sh*t...
It's funny that you mention Kaine, hugh...a good liberal girlfriend was at the house last night and she just recently moved home from Virginia. She's a huge Obama supporter but has serious hangups with Kaine from his days as Mayor...for whatever that's worth...I'll see if I can get her to elaborate a little...
If it's not Biden I'd love to see Clark or Richardson. Let Hillary be the new Majority Leader and wield the force! If Obama doesn't win then she won't be damaged goods for 2012...

Frankly, I am sick of the cheap theatrics of this vp contest. It won't be much of an issue with the demos in terms of making a difference in the election. I do agree that with the repubs it will be more of an issue. Miss hillary is toast and will left holding the bag with a large campaign debt. Rightfully so. If she is such a political genius and so beloved among the party faithful, how come she hasn't gotten much help on the debt? A genius doesn't get left holding the bag.

If Paul Begala is right and the Obama campaign didn't even vet Hillary nor consider her, there will be hell to pay from the PUMAS. I don't want Hillary in that job - Paul said he didn't either - but they said she was on the short list and if it gets out that they were just stringing everyone along, there will be problems and they shouldn't be unexpected.
I hope it's Biden and I hope they did consider and talk to Hillary - not for her sake but so that there will be some unity at the convention. We need this win and if our candidate did something to cause himself more problems, then as someone said the other day about the country deserving what we get if we elect another Repub, we would deserve the problems we get at the convention because we chose the candidate.

Well hell, doesn't anyone remember Pritt's latest press release--thankfully reproduced by Max here--where he compared himself to Gandhi, Dr. MLK Jr. and Abe Lincoln, all rolled up into one balding, butter-toothed ball? Pritt is the greatest thing since Bean-O. He'll sweep the south for Obama after sharing a Gore-like kiss on stage at the convention with his lover, Mike Hathorn. After eight years of Obama/Pritt, he'll be set to run himself, with Chelsea Clinton as his running mate, and lead the nation into eight glorious years of prosperity after wiping out the national debt by writing a big check to China on Tim Hutchinson's bank account.

I will share my chili dogs with everyone, you all can feel my chili dog. You know....I'd just fill my pants with joy.?..if Obama picked Bill Clinton. Imagine the nation's first black President and Vice President! Leave Hillary to be the lioness of the Senate and put Bill on a world tour of fence mending. The boy's restless, he needs a real job. He'd be a fantastic representative for America. Biden is a bag of wind. He's too much like McCain....talks a blue streak then votes the other way. The rest of the choices are a big blah.....I like Richardson, but very few get a woodie over him. I'm ready to get this show on the road!
I'm sick to my bone marrow of politics! Do any of you remember life before politics? I remember riding my bike and the Beatles and the next door neighbor's 1968 Caprice.....the rest is a blur. Do they still put centerfolds in magazines? Once the conventions are over I may lock myself up in the film room upstairs and watch those boxes of Betamax movies until it's time to vote. I'm so sorry I threw all those bags of my father's Valium away!
