Parting shot

If I read Under the Dome correctly, outgoing Sen. Jim Argue is sounding the alarm about the quality of the work the legislature is doing on establishing the cost of an adequate education. Pulling numbers out of the hat about school bus costs isn't a confidence builder, it's true.

Like they were capable of understanding half a billion dollars worth of facilities improvements in the last three years when he was there.

They have been pulling this out of their back pocket all along. No one said a word until now. Lots of money for everyone.

The absence of Argue, Riggs & Mahoney leaves Arkansas education to the tender mercies of Martin, Baker & Jeffress.

"But even the transportation proposal recommended that lawmakers continue to study fuel costs and decide whether any funding increases for fuel are needed" (AP Baxter Bulletin)

Say what? Did they buy 5 yr futures contracts on gasoline and diesel back in 04? Do they live on the same planet as the rest of us?

Do they need to touch the paint to see if the sign is true?

.

Argue cannot leave the General Assebly soon enough for many of us. He is a big ego, media seeking leach.
