Shootout on Roosevelt Road
Two men were wounded in a shootout at a convenience store at Roosevelt and Arch. KARK has some details. LRPD told me one was shot in the arm and one in the head.

75 posts on 1 Gwatney thread and 156 on another. A third Gwatney thread just started has 3 posts already.
Wonder how many folks will feel equally compelled to post on this Little Rock shooting? Why not? Most likely didn't know the folks involved in either shooting, so no difference there.
One example- when Max starts a thread about the threat to Lake Maumelle that affects roughly 400,000 central Arkansans, a handful care to post. Why not? Don't know anything about where your drinking water comes from or what's in it? And our drinking water directly affects so many more lives, hundreds of thousands.
What's wrong with us as a society? Are we brought up to not care about what is really important?
How many of you have spent more time watching the Olympics in the first week than watching city, state or national government meetings in your entire life? Maybe TV has turned so many brains to mush that Bush/Cheney could declare martial law on November 3 and nobody would give a damn!

Gee, what a surprise----a shootout in a black neighborhood. Who would have guessed. I'm not sure what is newsworthy about something that happens regularly in crime ridden neighborhoods. Please, don't lecture me about being victims of their environment. I know----poor potty training.

I made the same point to my wife. People die in the hood every day and where's the publicity? Now, I'll grant Gwatney isn't a great example because he was the Party Chair, but still. We'll get all in a tizzy over someone (allegedly) burning their house down in Chenal but a drive by shooting? Ho hum. We can't hear enough about Huckabee but our water supply? Zzzzzz.....

I always wondered what the GOP would do without a Clinton, but thankfully for them there are lots of blacks, browns, and gays to marginalize.
