South of the border criminals?

Washington Post says the FBI is investigating whether a ring of South American criminals is behind recent jewelry salesman robberies in Arkansas and other Southern cities.

Hmmm. Maybe so. Certainly it seems to be a ring of some kind, but I'd think there has to be inside information being passed along -- maybe not from one person since it seems that the salesmen are from different areas and companies.
Let's hope the FBI can do a better job here than they did with the anthrax case. Maybe they're not busy capturing reporters' phone calls this week?

There's a cottage industry in the US in fearing all the wrong things. We spend billions on 'terrorism' but the things that can and do hurt us are local crime, cancer, lack of healthcare, poor education, etc. Wouldn't it be nice to have all those billions back that we spent in Iraq and spend it where it actually does some good?

Ci.Ci.: I see you're afflicted with MSD (Making Sense Disorder).

Billions spent in the areas you mentioned could do worlds of good.

But the administration and congress would never go for it.

And probably most of the citizens wouldn't either. "It would be too costly." We'd never borrow that much money from China to accomplish that much good.

We borrow on that scale ONLY to destroy things--and people.
