What is the sound of 5,000 Repubs clapping?
That would be response to the news that the worst. president. ever. will skip the Republican National Convention (Darth Cheney, too) in deference to the coming hurricane. Too bad he wasn't so concerned in advance of Katrina. Or after.

Comments
Former DNC chairman Don Fowler gave the Republicans a gift in the form of a video now making the rounds on YouTube, where he is overheard making some insensitive remarks about the hurricane hitting New Orleans during the GOP convention. Heckuva job, Fowler!

He can't help his party.. when he can watch CNN from his vacation in Crawford.
As always, disasters are good for Republicans.. since everyone in the party wants to be as far from Bush or McCain as humanly possible anyway... it's all good.
No wonder the Twin Cities police are arresting everyone and taking their cell phones and cameras.. they don't want proof of the ghost convention.
Any reports on what may or may not be arriving (FEMA help) via Little Rock airport?

This is Obama's money line of attack, not those sophomoric screeds about the number of houses McSame owns (hint: he doesn't own them, she does) and certainly not the source of her money. The Dems got those closets of their own. And drop the McTheusalah line, it only reinforces the age divide, Obama's not gonna get anymore yoots than right now.
The Obama campaign needs to swing on linking McSame and GWBush. Harp constantly between now and next week on the absence of their own sitting president. Burn that shot of McSame & Bush embracing into the memory of every voter. Repeat McSame's own words about how he would continue Bush's policies.
Otherwise, practice saying President McCain.

Who says God don't love the Rethiuglicans?
He sends another hurricane that gives them an excuse for Shit for Brains not to show up and force America to watch a three-way with Shrub, McThuselah and Sweetie Pie on the dais.

Whew. Thanks will be given to Gustav in hundreds of Minnesota hotel rooms over the next few days. Otherwise both the president and the vice-president would have had to develop a raging case of . . . what, maybe stomach flu?
And -- "McCain aides say the GOP presidential candidate and his wife, Cindy, will join Ms. Palin in traveling to Jackson, Miss., today at the invitation of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. They said the candidates want to check on preparations because they are concerned about the people threatened by the storm . . ."
But -- Mother Nature is a Rethuglican?

I've had the tv on and watching for any replays of Katrina footage. No a single replay. All the corporate TV chiefs are in lock step. A few commentators make only a slight mention of how nursing home residents were not evacuated nor were people in IC who were left to die so this time they're doing it early. Even the dogs now have special trucks and places arranged to care for them. The Bush-Gustav Show is ready to hit town!
Well, there's one thing for sure, they know how to steal an election and that's about all that counts.
Let's see if that bright kid from corrupt, tough Chicago calls their bluff.
"He who counts the votes decides everything."

Watch this video (clicky) and one has to ask, why is John Mccain looking down her blouse while fiddling with his wedding ring? Why is she backing away from his every move?
Clinton had a pizza delivery girl... McCain nominates one for VP... it's like Monica, Paula Corbin Jones, Phyllis Schlafly and Janet Huckabee all rolled into one VP.
Will Jerry Springer be hosting the RNC this week?

"...the sound of 5,000 Repubs clapping?"
Shouldn't that be '5,000 clapping Repubs' ?

Yeah, Cunty McCain throws a few looks at Palin's ass too. How come Bush & Cheney are staying out of the Gulf to not hamper rescue efforts there, but McShrimp and his cast of thousands are there right now? Is this a crazy country or what?
I don't know what to make of it.....chasv might be right after all.....God does have a sense of humor by sending this hurricane to the Gulf right now, not 2 weeks from now...but right now. On the other hand it's stopping a partial birth abortion Convention that NO ONE wants to attend except the little glassy-eyed Rush followers. I don't want the storm to shorten the Convention by 1 second. I want to watch Republicans standing in their own shame trying to spin the Cheney-Bush-McShrimp hurricane of shit into golden shiny threads. I want to see, without the help of a hurricane, how many fine Republicans DON'T show up for this orgy of lies.
If....in the end the neo-con Cheney-Bush and Bushie crowd are drown in hurricane flood waters....I just might find my religion again. It will be a sign, an unmistakable sign that someone up there is watching. Be sure and watch coverage of the Nazi stormtroopers at work in St. Paul.....it'll sure make you be proud to be an American.

Did you ever think, perhaps New Orleans and Gulf Coast are fortunate that Gustav coincided with the GOP "Smear"vention in Minnesota?
Just think what the Federal and Republican response to a disaster would be, if they thought the voters weren't looking?

You're right Eureka, I have lost my sense of humor. I believe it will come home when I know there won't be a President McCain. Til then it will probably stay skulking around behind the house.

5,000 Indpendent Voters who silently signed a petition to get there Independent
candidate into the Presidential Race. Now how much money did you say each party has been bought by? A different campaign model would be to elect a candidate on the qualities of their character and not the color of their skin, though now civil ights needs to include the presence of even those with disabilities. Or hold it?
Where does it say in the Constitution that a party affiliation is requried to be a citizen or particiapte in our democracy?
But hold it, a person with disabilities have no value in our culture, nor do the aged have meaning as they do in Georgia!
But then hold it, where does it say in the U.S. Constittuion that a candisate needs so many signatures and so much money to run for office or has each state's electoral board corrupted the idea of democracy?
Tell me Max!

70% - I figure the only way to watch this weeks RNC, developing Palintology..and Gawd forbid..another Bushco Blackwater response to a hurricane, maybe two.. will require a lot of laughter to make it through with any semblance of sanity intact.
I am open to suggestions...)

One of the obvious differences this time is a REAL Governor---Bobby Jindal. BLANCA ist kaput. A real leader of the state can make all the difference between success and failure. The last time I checked my constitution the concept of 'federalism' was the cornerstone of that document. That means that the STATE of Louisiana has the primary responsibility for managing this. The feds provide some support. I don't include Ray 'choclate city' Nagin because he is just an empty suit as he was the last time.

The Governor of Florida, rightwingnut of course, has announced the hurricane is forcing him to stay home this week too. Even though Gusty ain't heading for Florida. I expect a slew of R governors from land-locked states will be pulling out of the Miss Wasilla 2008 convention in St. Paul too.
But...ladies and germs....is Cheney-Bush hoping this hurricane is the giant national disaster they're praying for in order to cancel the November elections? They're on disaster watch and since a national disaster will be defined solely by George W. Bush, a grass fire in Utah can be used as an excuse to declare martial law and stop the election.
In the mean time you know there is some new Heck of a Job Brownie out there warming up in the Bush bullpen. My best wishes (for what that's worth) to the people of the Gulf Coast. It's just too bad God has to drown you to punish the RNC.
