In the NWA edition of the ADG there's a little ditty I found disturbing. I knew they do it. Not that any AT bloggers would ever need the warning but nonetheless here it is :
"FAYETTEVILLE - Interrogation room confessions aren't the only way a crime suspect's words can come back to haunt him at trial. With jails across the country using automated recording systems to monitor inmate telephone calls, a suspect's idle chit-chat can become incriminating evidence.

Need a good laugh? Landover Baptist Church announces Sarah Palin Week. Click on blue name.
Here are a few of the planned festivities:
Sunday, 9 P.M. Sarah Palin Endangered Species Pelt Raffle - Sister Sarah will raffle off 1,800 sq. yards of wall-to-wall carpeting for your den or rumpus room made from the bleached pelts of infant polar bears she has chased around the ice and shot in the face with a machine gun from the Governor's hovering helicopter.
Monday, 2 P.M. Sarah Palin Live Animal Skinning Demonstration. Church members should bring old or unwanted pets, stray cats or livestock animals so they can follow along with Sister Sarah and the Landover Ladies as they perform a step-by-step authentic wilderness animal skinning survival demonstration on a deer Pastor's limousine pinned up against a pine tree last night. Everyone will then have their own clumps of animal flesh and fur as Sarah and her husband, Todd will teach us later how to stitch together an authentic Eskimo fire-water pouch.
Thursday, 10 A.M. Sarah Palin Witnessing Tips and Sarah Palin Recipe Exchange - The Landover Ladies will hold a session in the West Chapel to discuss ways to share the message of Christ and Sarah Palin with unsaved friends and loved ones. Recipes will be exchanged after witnessing methods are exhausted.

Thanks, everyone! Even though I can't foresee this state going for Obama - if Satan ran on the GOP ticket, he'd win handily here, esp. if his opponent were black - I have to cast my protest ballot.

There is a near-Hilter, Negro, who runs occasionally on the R ticket. He was defeated by BHO in the Illinois Senate race. Listen as he calls for implementing a "national creed." Almost the same language used by Hitler.

"And if Hitler happened to be black he would get a pretty handsome number of democrats voting for him."
But as he was, he was a natural draw for the Repubs, like Preston Bush, Lindy, Henry Ford and other notables.

Best friend (a fervent R) tells me tonight that she's not into this election much. She doesn't like McCain, doesn't really have a big problem with Obama (4 months ago, she screamed at me for an hour about how he was a terrorist), but is VERY impressed with Palin. I usually nod and say lots of "uh huh" and "oh really" when she talks politics. When she pops out with that, I just said "are you serious?" Yep, she is. One more odd thing about the conversation...she's impressed that a big fundraiser for Hillary is now allegedly pro-Palin. Last time we discussed the former AR first lady, BF hated her and everything about her. But today, an ex-supporter is a reason to like the odd choice is that the Gov of AK.
I feel like the grandfather at the end of Moonstruck: I'm so confused.

Toot. Toot . Toot.
Since the Pulaski folks won't bring it up, I will venture into this domain by mentioning something about the public school system in Arkansas. We have around 240(?) school districts now and todays DOG (section B) points out 18 of those school districts get A's for their results for the Iowa Tests Achievement for ninth graders. Those school districts are:
Bentonville
Conway
Lake Hamilton
Caddo Hills
Fayetteville
Mountain Home
McCroy
Valley View
Greenwood
Searcy
Viola
Ouachita
Lakeside (Faulkner County)
Melbourne
Mena
Norofork
Lamar
Bergman
Districts receiving F's were:
Forrest City
Strong
Osceola
Blytheville
Dermott
England
Dollarway
Helena-West Helena
Brinkley
Lakeside (Chicot County)
Augusta
Lafayette
Earle
Turrell
41 districts received Ds and Fs.
62 districts received Bs
123 earned Cs
Two districts in Pulaski County received Cs:
Little Rock
Pulaski County Special
North Little Rock earned a D
Louie, we can't beat you in football but we are on the A list and you didn't make it. Solly. But your school excels where it counts......on the football field.

Hey Cato, where'd you get that list? I ask because the better Lakeside is in Garland County, not Faulkner county.
Interesting that two of those schools are in Hot Springs: Lake Hamilton and Lakeside. (Although districts like Fayetteville's are much larger.)

JD, as stated the list is from today's Dem/Gazette from page of Section B. They have it Lakeside in Faulkner County (which I know isn't located there but I typed it as they print it) and Lakeside in Chicot County.
By the way, according to this article, the top ranked district in the state was McCroy, followed by Valley View, Greenwood, Searcy, Viola, Conway, Lake Hamilton, Bentonville and Ouachita. Ouachita is Acorn/Oden combo. One in Polk County and the other in Montgomery County.

Cato, the Ouachita I know is a, I'd call it a small country school, between Malvern and
Arkadelphia, Donaldson post office, Hot Spring Co.

Think I'll keep posting this until strangehate responds (first posted 9/25 at 11:09 & again on 9/26):
"No, the responsibility for the war in Iraq lies with the Congress. They authorized the war and appropriated the money to fund it----several times." strangehate
Gee, and here I thought Republicans were in charge of both the House and Senate way back in '03 when the occupation of Iraq was authorized and funded. Sorta makes that a Republican occupation- signed, sealed and delivered.
Republicans led the House, the Senate and the presidency- golly gee. Now, strangehate, pray tell us who was in position to override those in charge. Please. I just love learning more about the federal government, and I've probably forgotten a lot that I learned in school. Help me here, please. Throw me a lifeline.
Is that to say some Democrats are not culpable in falling for W's disinformation campaign? Of course not. But the R's earned the lion's share of the blame, hands down.
Apologies to (almost) all for my feeding the troll.
strangehate- did you up and die on us?

I'm sorry that the older I get the more I find out humans are incredibly stupid. How on earth did we get to the moon and back? Only people paying 1/2 of 1% attention could think Sarah Palin was a fine choice for VP of this land. At least with McCain people could be relying on the myths of their memory to think he'd be OK in the White House.
I still catch myself believing that Ally McGraw was a great actress. Now I know I was thinking with my little head all through the 70s. That would explain people still believing in the Myth of John McCain. But it won't explain Sarah Palin.
OK, our next job is to put our collective brains together and try and figure out this 110 bill that's going to cost us out the ass for the next 20 years. I tried to download it earlier tonight and all I got was a server busy error. I'd rather have a rectal exam than read the sucker, but maybe if we make a group effort we can piece it together and figure out what kind of screwing we're getting. Too late for me to start on it tonight, but I'll give it a try tomorrow.
Hopefully this week we'll see the markets settle down and McCain-Palin implode....but not enough to take either of them out of the race....I want Obama-Biden to face McCain-Palin in November, I really do. They're a recipe for a Democratic victory! I just wish the election was tomorrow cause I'm way way burned out on the whole damn thing. My wife had 2 kids in the blink of an eye compared to this long-ass campaign that started way back in the 90s....I swear!
I would venture to advise to not put much faith in these Iowa test results in school districts with a high Hispanic population. I've seen my kid's schools make Fs time and time again and it doesn't mean a damn thing. Why? Because the Hispanic population in Fort Baptist churns over and over. The turnover rate at the grade school near my house is 70% each year. They churn as Dad gets a better job and move to better housing or another town. Mexicans are smart, but you try taking a test in another language that you can't read and see how well you do.
The Mexican kids that stick around a few years pick up English really fast and soon can ace the Iowa test with the best of them. Remember as these kids churn, they get educated and at some point they make good grades on these tests. But testing them right after they cross the border means an F every time. It's very upsetting to see teachers giving 110% every day of the school year publicly embarrassed and humiliated when the paper comes out with the results of a skewed test. To their credit they just go back to work the next day and do another 110%.
And if you don't like Hispanic people...SPIT out that piece of chicken right now! Do your own damn yard work! And learn to roof your own damn house!

Several areas in Little Rock have been under a boil order since Friday.
And as usual, the incompetents at the Arkansas Department of Health have no info about it on their boil order list -
http://www.healthyarkansas.com/eng/boilordr.htm
Channel 4 finally posted some info about it Sunday evening -
http://arkansasmatters.com/content/fulltext/news/?cid=119921
I've complained to the Dept. of Health about their failure to post timely information about boil orders at their official web site, to no avail. Getting the info two days late is not good, especially if you've been drinking a from cesspool of bacteria during that time.

Kizzy, I've known her since I was 5, we were best friends from 5-18 and things kinda started falling apart then. I'm reluctant to just say "bye now" because I value loyalty and I am concerned about her. That being said, if I met her today for the first time, we would NOT be friends. At all. She has tons of potential, but no one (or so it seems) has ever believed in her other than me. She has redeeming qualities, but critical thinking just isn't one of them.
