Drill, baby, drill!
The right-wing slogan for solving the energy crisis takes on added meaning after today's inspector general's report that Bush's corrupt Interior Department representatives charged with policing drilling on government lands were — literally — in bed with representatives of Big Oil.
In addition to sex in the hot tub, they also accepted lots of other free boodle from the Oil Industry.

Re "drill baby drill" at the convention---did any of y'all listen to Tom Friedman on Fresh Air Monday? It was a complete smackdown, and is well worth a listen.

Mrs Frank. you have to love Friedman's run down on 300 high paying engineering being moved to Germany because Senate Republicans voted against a tax credit for green energy.
Friedman notes that oil state Senators will never vote against oil interests.

I heard Friedman. Knowledge like his should be forced upon every high school student in the country. If only more folks could understand the possibilities that exist at this juncture.
But I've grown increasingly discouraged since living in AR.

As long as Democrats accept the Republican premise that there is a shortage of oil causing higher oil prices, the Republicans will win this one.
There is no shortage though. More oil continues to be produced then actually consumed. Investors have run up the price of oil.
