Palin speech edited

After the first round boos, Sarah Palin has dropped her warm reference to Hillary Clinton.

Also re Palin: Meet her pastors. No wonder James Dobson is thrilled about her place on the ticket.

Could it be that John McCain truly IS putting his COUNTry first?!

I always have agreed with Jefferson that a person's religous beliefs and relationship with the Supreme Being is personal and no one's business, especially the government's. The only thing I want to know about a candidate's religious holdings is do they believe in separation of church and state. That's all.

As a woman, this nomination is as insulting to me as Clarence Thomas was to African-Americans. John McCain has lost his mind and sold his soul.

If he ever had one.

Watch out Cato, these boys expect to ride the their religion to wealth and power.

Cato there is no way is earth you can separate church from state!
Get your head screwed on right and think!
I am the state and I am the church and there are millions and millions more like that!
You can't separate me from the church or the state so that proves that folks who believes like you are stupid as hell.
God rules in the hearts of man. The government is run by man. There is no other way except to go to hell where God won't be.

CiCi, John will be your next president so there you are. Don't go cutting your wrist or jumping off a tall building because it won't change a thing...

If you are for that heathen, obama, you are no different than he is. His beliefs are your beliefs. He is a heathen. Heathens don't believe in God...

See what I mean.

These boys will put W, Cheney, and Rove in power and call it righteousness.

There is no rationalithy left in the Republican party. It is all argument and outcome that only enriches the powerful and demeans and angers those who are made fools, like poor Chasv.

Fletch, if you or anyone else thinks we like the things bush has done you are definitly insane..
I have told you over and over and over the democraps are the reason the republicans are in charged of the white house... You damn deomcraps forced us to put a man in office that will not let you democraps change this nation into a modern day sodom and gomorah, etc., etc.....

"If you are for that heathen, obama, you are no different than he is. His beliefs are your beliefs. He is a heathen. Heathens don't believe in God..."

hahahahahahaha
No..really?
hahahahahaha

I needed a good laugh this morning and chasv you NEVER fail to deliver...

Palin definitely made a career mistake. She should have followed the hillary model and wangled a first lady job. Then she could have claimed to be eminently qualified for anything. Silly girl, she thought being a mayor and governor was some sort of qualification.

Gee chasv,, glad to see you don't believe in judging another's heart.

If you believe Grandpa McSamebush is a bible believing, go to church every sunday, on his

knees in fervent prayer every night, does not *love* money, gives all to the poor, etc.

You are in serious need of enlightement......just my humble opinion.

Jimmy Carter was/is a true christian, IMO, and he was treated like shit, yes, even by me.

Jimmy Carter was treated with disdain because of his horrible administration and his incompetent handling of the hostage crisis. You are right, even demos wanted him out because he was an embarrassment to them. He continued to be incompetent and an embarrassment even to the clinton administration with his mishandling of the north korean situation. The situation we are facing in Iran was directly due to his incompetency.

Any confirmation on the reports that her 17 year old, unmarried daughter is pregnant? Not that I'm knocking her family, mind you. I imagine there's not much else for teens to do in Alaska.

I am the state and I am the church and there are millions and millions more like that!

So sayth chasv phelps. How is this different from the Muslim radicals we're killing in Iraq? They are the state and the Muslim mosque and there are millions and millions of them. Is that not enough proof for even dim bulbs like chasv, that mixing religion with government is super dangerous? Have you got your chest dynamite ready chasv? Don't you want to give it to those heathens at your local Wal-Mart?

You gotta think about what you believe now and then and not just sail on with it unexamined. A 100% Christian American government would be as evil and dangerous as we know 100% Muslim governments are. Think son.......don't let your good thing be used for evil!

Yeah, Carter definitely caused the whole thing in Iran by orchestrating the overthrow of Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953 as a junior officer in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. He also traded guns for hostage ages to delay the embassy hostages releases until after Reagan's inauguration!

The extent of CCRRR stupidity is only matched by their lack of veracity and any semblance of manners orany operating motive other than rapaciousness.

Click.

dbi, you said some wise things but you know muslims and christians do not believe in the same God. The muslims' leader is dead our leader is alive and his coming back to earth soon to get his church.
If you, and I know you do, knew it christians were/are. I believe, the most persecuted people in the last 2000 yrs.

VOTE FOR MCCAIN, THE MAVERICK

Copied from C&L (cause I knew Chasv and the CCRRR's wouldn't be caught resurrected there)

A high school friend of mine had an old Maverick. It had lots of miles and was pretty run down. It didn't always start in the winter, and it overheated pretty easily if you drove it to far. On the highway it generally pulled to the right, but it could change direction in an instant - almost so fast you couldn't remember the original direction.

Of course it used a ton of gas, burnt oil and created clouds of smoke. But every time my buddy got pulled over, he'd tell the cops the car had been towed and spent a long time in the pound. For some reason, that excuse seemed to work all the time . . .

chasv....every radical Muslims believes exactly as you do about THEIR god. Their god isn't coming back, but he's told them what they have to do to come to live with him. They want us dead because their god tells them we're the infidels.

They believe as strongly about their beliefs as you do yours. I personally think you're both nuts, but I'm not going to strap anything to my chest to blow anyone up....ever. So I am not a danger to you or them.

You are birds of a feather! Twin sons of different fathers! You both scare me! And you're a lot closer to Fort Baptist than they are.

When the Shah asked for Carter's help, he ignored him opening the door for the nut cases that now run Iran.

Here's something new to read. Palin was the director of a 527 swift-boating organization to help Ted Stevens.

ST. PAUL -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began building clout in her state's political circles in part by serving as a director of an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens.

Palin's name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers of the "Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.," a 527 group that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her name was replaced on state filings.

Palin's relationship with Alaska's senior senator may be one of the more complicated aspects of her new position as Sen. John McCain's running mate; Stevens was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption.

Palin, an anti-corruption crusader in Alaska, had called on Stevens to be open about the issues behind the investigation. But she also held a joint news conference with him in July, before he was indicted, to make clear she had not abandoned him politically.

Stevens had been helpful to Palin during her run for governor, swooping in with a last moment endorsement. And the two filmed a campaign commercial together to highlight Stevens's endorsement of Palin during the 2006 race.

Shortly after Palin was announced as McCain's vice presidential pick, the ad was removed from her gubernatorial campaign web site. It remains available on YouTube.

A federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., has accused Stevens of concealing on financial disclosure statements lucrative gifts from the now-defunct oil company Veco and its top executives. At one point, Veco employees and contractors jacked up the senator's mountainside house on stilts and added a new first floor, with two bedrooms and a bathroom, the indictment says.

Stevens became the first sitting U.S. senator to face criminal charges in 15 years. He has adamantly denied the allegations.

At the time Stevens revealed the existence of the 527 group -- a type of independent political corporation named for its the section of the tax code -- ethics experts questioned whether it was appropriate.

The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call reported that several experts called the group an example of the fine legal line between a legal effort to conduct political activity and then-new prohibitions against raising unlimited soft-money.

Board members of Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service were legally allowed to raise as much money as they wanted from corporations or unions or unlimited donations from individuals -- all of which would have been illegal for Stevens to do himself.

At the time of the 2004 Roll Call report, Stevens's involvement was limited to some conversations with the group's board.

"He has just agreed that we can use his name," Gloria Shriver, the founder of the group and wife of Alaska Republican Party Chairman Randy Ruedrich, told the newspaper. "He did say that we could use [his name] and wished us the very best."

During her interview, Shriver left open the option that Stevens might help with some fundraising, the newspaper reported.

There is no record in IRS filings as to how much the group eventually raised.

A Palin spokeswoman did not provide a response to questions about the 527 this morning.

There is nothing controversial about what these pastors are quoted as saying. This is in fact a central tennent of christian doctrine.

This is entirely different than the "god damn America" speeches preached by the pastor of Obama for over 20 years.

No Comparison.

Here you are CJ, ............A TAX AND SPEND LIBERAL....IN ALASKA

Seattle Times-
Republicans in Congress this June united to defeat a proposed windfall tax on oil companies, deriding it as a bad idea that would discourage investment in U.S. oil exploration.

Things worked out far differently in the GOP stronghold of Alaska, a state whose economic fate is closely tied to the oil industry.

Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska's Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry - a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared.

At a time when Americans are feeling the pinch at the gasoline pump and oil companies are racking up record profits, Alaska's choice foreshadows one of the sharpest debates in the upcoming presidential election.

Democrat Barack Obama supports a national windfall-profits tax, while Republican John McCain opposes it.

Alaska collected an estimated $6 billion from the new tax during the fiscal year that ended June 30, according to the Alaska Oil and Gas Association.

Re Palin's pregnant daughter:
Mr. Obama has said he wants a "hands off" when it comes to Palin's family. I;m afraid the Democrats are still disillusioned. IF one of Obama's girls were 17 and pregnant the right wing would be all over it. And WE KNOW what they'd be saying...

Stop playing nicey Democrats. You've been doing that for 8 years and the country has gone down hill. Palin and her family ain't nothin' but "tundra trash."

chasv,
"Obama making fun of the Bible"

Allow me to ask you chasv, does the bible say that people who work on the sabbath should be stoned to death?

Does your "we" group take care of that or should real christians just take care of each and everyone who violates the Law by failing to honor the sabbath?

Don't use the cop-out of 'God will take care of them.' I recall the bible clearly stating such sabbath violators should be stoned to death.
.

All this talk of Palin. I'm curious; has anyone on this blog ever, ever voted for the president based on his VP selection? I haven't but maybe it's more important to some of you guys.

Those are not central tenets of Christian doctine. Not at all. Many, if not most, Christians believe in evolution. They don't believe the central purpose of the US is to glorify God. They don't believe we're in the last days. Those are central tenets of that unholy blend of neo-conservatism, anti-science and fundamentalist Christianity.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080901/ap_on_el_pr/cvn_convention_protests

Hey; Check this out, liberal protestors for peace at the GOP covention.

One of obama's lapdogs said: "Those are not central tenets of Christian doctrine. Not at all"

Obviously, you know NOTHING about Christianity. Have you ever heard of the Westminster Confession of Faith as an example? There are basic tenants of the faith and those who do not embrace those tenants may claim to be Christians but they do not abide by the teaching of the scriptures. I have to assume that such an absurd statement is meant to solicit comments.

I'm sorry that most people on this blog are not intelligent enough to understand Rev. Wright's Goddamn America sermon. Because you aren't, you're doomed to live thru a few more 9-11s. America's problem is an overabundance of small minds unable to view the larger picture.

And Wes if you'll remember the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago the troublemakers there were on the Nixon payroll. I think if there are any violent protesters in St. Paul today, we might check to see whose paying them. It was a great trick in 1968...worked like a charm. We know Republicans play any trick that works, over and over. You need to see the bigger picture on dirty political tricks too.
