Sex education

Speaking of Sarah Palin: There's a fine op-ed in the New York Times today about the need for comprehensive sex education in the U.S. Be sure to look at the accompanying graphic. The U.S. is a world leader in teen pregnancy. But take a look at, for example, Scandinavian countries with a higher rate of teen sexual activity. The birth rate is much, much, much lower. That ain't from the abstinence-only education that Palin believes in, that's for sure.

Comments

From the article:

"London's Daily Telegraph reported last month on a June study that found that 'one in three secondary schools in England now has a sexual health clinic to give condoms, pregnancy tests and even morning-after pills to children as young as 11.'

Furthermore, a bipartisan group from the British Parliament is seeking to make sex education compulsory for 'children as young as four years old.'"

By all means, I think Obama should promote these "reforms." The election, for him, would be over tomorrow.

If such reforms could be successfully introduced into this vast, stupid country, the teen pregnancy rate would go down far enough that bloggers like "FromThePines" would never be born.

If our stupid country hadn't killed by fourty million babies by abortion we would not want those fourty million mexicans here. It is a damn shame on this country to let doctors kill our own babies then let that many mexicans stay here illegally.

forty,, i.e.

Does Sarah Palin have anythng to do with that last post? My impression is that she encourages appropriate contraception

Yea, that is the reason why they are having sex and getting pregnant because we haven't taught them about sex. If we just provided them with more info then they wouldn't get pregnant. Yea, more info would solve all our problems just like with the homosexuals and aids. We gave them a bunch of education and they stopped having risky sex-----ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!!!!!!!

"If such reforms could be successfully introduced into this vast, stupid country, the teen pregnancy rate would go down far enough that bloggers like "FromThePines" would never be born."

If you have such contempt for this country, widj, why don't you leave? Sorry to disappoint you, but I wasn't the product of a "teen pregnancy"; your candidate was, however.

Sorry to disappoint....but Sarah only approves of an abortion if the Mother's Life is in clear danger.
