An albatross named Sarah Palin

New poll: 59 percent say Caribou Barbie is unqualified. A third say she'll be a factor in their presidential vote, to McCain's detriment.

Comments

Palin is unqualified to be vice president yet barry is qualified to be president? Yea, in your dreams. I'm more qualified to be president than barry.

Post says it all. She scares me.

Any conservative woman scares you. Get real!!!!!

"Yea, in your dreams. I'm more qualified to be president than barry."

Anywhere between 55 million and 60 million will disagree with you on Tuesday. Hope you have a nice NASCAR DVD you can watch to feel better.

A ny times survey. That has absolutely NO credibility. Polls can be legitimate and they can be partisan. The ny times is totally partisan. You'll need to do better than the ny times.

I'm not voting. I am confident that barry will win. I want the American people to get a 100% undiluted dose of the Democratic party----presidency, congress and the courts. Let's see four years from now how they feel about the demos. I can wait.

"Joe the plumber" would have been a better choice for VP than Ms. Caribou Palin.

McCain really showed poor judgment in his selection of Palin.

They why do they refer to the mouth as 'biden hiden'? Who can keep up with his gaffes?

Biden is helping his ticket, Palin is not helping hers. Big difference regardless of Biden's mouth.

strangelove,
Do you feel compelled to hijack every thread on this blog? When you say that you are more qualified to be President that Obama, do you know how stupid that is?
But thanks for the laughs...

Time is not going to help Palin, either. She will not be a factor in 2012.

Dear Gary Cheatham (AKA strangelove)

Do you really believe this statement: "Yea, in your dreams. I'm more qualified to be president than barry."

REALLY? Or are you just itching for an argument? Hyperbole in poor taste?

"A ny times survey. That has absolutely NO credibility. Polls can be legitimate and they can be partisan. The ny times is totally partisan. You'll need to do better than the ny times."

Poll fudging is only possible within a few percentage points depending on how you measure respondents, how you ask the question, etc. Unless you're suggesting that NYT completely fabricated its numbers, then you're not suggesting anything new. And if you ARE suggesting it fabricated its numbers and you're just about the only guy in the world who knows, then you're... well you get the idea.

The NYT is a world-wide respected publication--by both conservatives and liberals. (Its columnists, although admittedly more often liberal, also include big name conservatives.) Sort of like how the Economist or dare I say Wall Street Journal are respected publications, although they are conservative. (But you sound much more like a Sean Hannity guy than an WSJ guy. You think in terms of perceptions and labels--not ideas and facts.)

-----------------
Some random questions:

As an aside, what classes did you teach at Central High, and when did you teach there?

Can I guess your age, say, 50 or 51?

Nice try, pal. You will never guess who I am. The ny times is about as respected as someone who believes that with there track record any one could be respected.

Nice try, pal. You will never guess who I am. The ny times is about as respected as someone who believes that with their track record any one could be respected.

I believe that barry is a fabrication of the left wing who were so desperate for a candidate that they accepted a virtual neophyte who would never be acceptable to a reasonable electorate. In the era of John F. Kennedy he would be laughable. I knew JFK and barry you are no JFK.

"The ny times is about as respected as someone who believes that with their track record any one could be respected."

That sentence meant a whole lot of nothing, Gary.

It means nothing if you have nothing to decipher it with.

What was the class of 1964 like?

Have you such a short memory that you have forgotten about the 'fabrication' of a ny times reporter who had to resign? In fact, he finally admitted that they were totally fabricated. The times was embarrassed but its credibility has been destroyed. I'm sure you can identify with that. Do you have any more insights for us?

If you really knew anything about political polling you would know that it is at best a very inexact science. Sample size and polling techniques are usually where neophytes err. You don't sound like you know much about it so you should do your homework. Today, you have over 700 polling organizations with significant ranges of results that differ all over the place.

You are so desperate to identify me. Keep it up. Better to guess my identity than to comment on politics. You need to work on both. Yea, my name is strangelove. You got that right.

Pardon me for a double post - looks like the "action" may all be over here tonight (StrangeMORON excepted; we all know his mind, such as it is, is CLOSED for renovation):

CHALLENGE: All the trolls, R wingnuts, Religionists and Kool-Aid addicts check out the O'Bama interview by Rachel Maddow that aired tonight. Just take the time, keep breathing and LISTEN. Then weigh in back here.

I double-DOG dare you to use your eyes, ears and brains (wide open), then let us all know how "unknown," "scary," etc. you perceive him.

That's it.

Yes, barry is scary. I admit that. It is for that reason that I hope he wins. I hope that he scares the American people out of their gourds. After four years of living the hell of his administration it should be a long time before the American people elect another leftist to either the presidency or the congress. The risk is that we may lose the country but we will eventually unless this nonsense is stopped in its tracks. I never thought I would live to see someone with his obvious lack of experience ever be seriously considered for the presidency even by liberals.

As for Strange:

go away, go Away, Go away, Go Away, GO Away, GO AWAY, GO AWAY, GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go away, go Away, Go away, Go Away, GO Away, GO AWAY, GO AWAY, GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

go away, go Away, Go away, Go Away, GO Away, GO AWAY, GO AWAY, GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...but I repeat myself...

Yes, jd, listen to elmwood. He is a really good one for giving advice. 'Birds of a feather....'.

haha. Normally I resist, but it's been slow.

Oh well, Gary Cheatham's no longer an interesting subject. (P.S. strange, you might not want to put your name in your profile.)

Hats off to larry, 'currahee'. Now if you are a really smart little boy, figure that out.

jd, you're still grasping. You will never find out who I am. However, keep trying. It is better than your political commentary.

"Any conservative woman scares you. Get real!!!!!"

Sarah Palin is a self serving, situational morals practicing, Jesus freak.

Get another label. She is no Conservative.

Oh. Name me on real Conservative woman in national politics please.

For those who dare to click on bluename... ALBATROSS.

You already let it out that you were (supposedly) in the 101st Airborne...

NOW go away!

This is fact. Strangelove was gym locker attendant at Central for 12 years. He is brain damaged from the constant sniffing and should be forgiven. But somebody take his F***** keyboard from him. Checking in on this blog is like driving down a nice highway that has been trashed by a rusty old dumptruck full of garbage that blows out on the windshields of folks just trying to view and comment on the passing scene.

If she isn't a 'conservative' what political persuasion would you define her as? Conservatives seem to think she belongs to them. Are you more qualified to define a conservative than a conservative?

Phyllis Schlafly (gag!) HAHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha..........................

Yes, Phyllis Schlafly is a conservative. She defeated the equal (so called) rights amendment. I would say that was quite an accomplishment for an old lady. Have you accomplished anything like that?

Ann Coulter --- no wait, she's a "damaged" guy.............WAIT: StrangeLOVE = Ann Coulter!!!!
|

Yes, Ann Coulter is a conservative. I have yet to see her bested in a debate. She does come on strong but with lefties you have to.

William F. Buckley was a conservative. He was one of the best. His debating skills were exceptional. Even liberals respected him and were careful not to underestimate his abilities.

If Ann Coulter is a 'damaged guy' then you and I have a very 'unusual' perspective of females. Regardless of her politics or demeanor, she is quite a looker.

I can't stand Nancy Pelosi but I can appreciate her looks. Quite a striking woman. It must be because she is Italian.

All I'm saying is go to http://profile.typekey.com/garycheatham/ to see strangelove's profile.

Fun fact: there are only 2 or 3 Gary Cheathams in the state. One is near fayetteville, the other in the south.

I'm out.

Uh-oh!! William F. Buckley, Jr. was one of my heroes - while lambasting his "enemies" he actually made you THINK - unlike the sledgehammer ideologues of today. Among other things he was one of the first if not THE first prominent conservative intellectual to publicly support decriminalization of drugs. Too bad the R party hijacked conservatism LONG ago, and the real conservatives from "back when" would have hung President Monkeyboy Shit-for-brains Bush Lite from the nearest yardarm!!! McThuselah too for that matter... And as for Caribou Barbie Moosejaw...HAH!!!
|

Goodnight, jennifer, wherever you are. Some people use 'nom de cybers'.

I agree that Buckley was a true conservative from the old school. I didn't agree with all of his positions because he leaned a little too much to the 'libertarian's' for me but I respected him immensely. I miss Firing Line a great deal. We can agree on that. Palin was much more on the conservative side than McCain. Actually, McCain is NO conservative. I would never use that term to describe him. He needed Palin to shore up the base. They were not on board at all with him before Palin. Some of us still aren't.

Oh look, it is the strangelove crazy party on the AT Blog.
Good times.....

>McCain really showed poor judgment in his selection of Palin."

It helps to realize Senator McCain didn't actually select her.
Political teams do the vetting and selecting. So many had
turned him down, including our own Huckabee. He desperately
needed the ultra social conservative wing of the Republicans or
so his team convinced him.
She had the credentials to "energize" the 1/3 base. She did that.
They have a monopoly on low-information voters, the ones who hoot, holler
and generally go wild when Gov Palin mentions Obama-terrorists-socialists.
She doesn't need to make sense. She only needs to be able to toss out buzz
words. That's the way low-information voters work.
But, America has changed, Republicans have not.

In 2004 John Kerry was the "most liberal Senator in the U.S. Senate." It was
repeated over and over. They tried it this time. Over and over. Somehow in
two short years BHO has replaced John Kerry as the "most liberal senator in the
U.S. Senate." It's not working. New buzz.

"Too Inexperienced"...didn't work.

"Associates with Terrorists...is a terrorist"
didn't work.

Socialist. Redistributer....isn't working...pushing it harder...

Desperation. Meltdown. Fun to watch.

But I'm seriously watching the U.S. Senate. 55 D seats are now very likely. 59 and possibly
the magic 60 are possible.

The House gains 15 seats.

"What's more scary: a bleak economy or a black president?

"If I'm a white middle-age or older male, I'm looking around me and saying, 'I'm losing power, I'm losing my influence,' and I get a little scared because the tables have turned. And that's OK, that's the way our population and the world is going. So they're going to have to make an adjustment, and that might mean giving up a little bit of power. I can understand why white people are scared right now."

"Fear can be an irresistible political tool.
.

...and with eL's succinct, entertaining, and HIGHLY accurate summation of the situation du jour, I'm retiring. WAY to go, eL!!!

G'night all.

Ann Coulter Phyllis Schlafly (gag!) HAHahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha........................

Speaking of Ann Coulter why is she playing such a low profile?
Is it because she's embarrassed being out dummied by Palin?

Phyllis Schlafly -- old withered and no doubt preparing to join fellow racist mentor and brethren Helm's sooner rather than later. No doubt he's relishing in plenty of hot air down yonder.

"Speaking of Ann Coulter why is she playing such a low profile?"--BWC

She's out and about, BWC. Just about every time I flipped to FOX the last few days the Adam's Apple was screeching something.

It's enough that Palin is a religious nut and not qualified to be VP or prez. Trashing her otherwise is...well, too Republican.

Only 59% say she is unqualified, ehh?

That is almost as many that say Barry Hussein Obama isn't qualified or isn't the most qualified to be President.

Oh wait a minute, Obama isn't running for President, he is running to be this country's "Messiah"

Now those are some numbers I haven't seen anywhere, catfish...care to share where you get numbers saying that almost 59% say Obama isn't qualified...?

And to think, they used to tell us eating fish would improve our brains....

Strange, seriously, I know you catch a lot of flack on here, but I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank you.
For not voting.

Strange says...
"William F. Buckley was a conservative. He was one of the best. His debating skills were exceptional. Even liberals respected him and were careful not to underestimate his abilities."

It's nice to see that this respected conservative's son has seen the light. He must have raised him right!

I still recall the 1968 debate between Wm. F Buckley and Gore Vidal.

Vidal pushed Buckley on a point and easily won the argument. Then the excellent
debater told Gore "I'll knock your goddamned queer head off" right on TV. Saw it.

Good debater. Intelligent. Refined. Sensible. I miss Gore Vidal.
