Fayetteville's mayor

Will Dan Coody be re-elected Fayetteville mayor? Not if firefighters, police, the Sierra Club or The Iconoclast have anything to say about it. They're for Lioneld Jordan.

It's not a good year to be an "establishment" "entrenched" office holder seeking re election.

If you doubt that why is Mark Pryor advertising to on every channel on regional TV in NWA?

The firemen and policemen picking Lioneld is no surprise, neither is the news about the Sierra Club. Lioneld's the only candidate who's a member of the Sierra Club, and he's the only candidate who's currently a union member. Neither the firemen nor the policemen are ready to buy Dan's promises again, but they're playing it safe by picking the only other incumbant running for the office.

Lioneld's a good man, but here's something people should ask themselves: Where's the leadership? After eight years on the city council, where has he demonstrated leadership? I believe the only initiative he's brought forward is the road impact fees and that failed. A perfect attendence record isn't enough. His slogan is experience you can trust, and yes you can count on Lioneld to show up everyday, but where's the leadership?
