Michigan in the rear-view mirror

Says here that McCain has given up on Michigan. About two weeks ago, a Little Rock Republican whose political skills I value said Obama was in trouble in Michigan and that was a solid indication of his general weakness. "If a Democrat can't win Michigan, it's over," he told me then.

Polls and times do change.

Max did you catch this?

Man Man Oh Man....

Your friend is right, Max...especially in this election...

I try to make it up to Michigan at least once a year to escape the summer heat and this year those folks were really hurting. It stretches much further than Detroit. Tourism was horribly down due to higher gas prices and factories were literally shutting down monthly. Lots of folks out of work...

I noticed a lot of Obama yard signs and very few McCain yard signs...

These Republicans have been telling us lies for so long they're starting to tell lies to each other. Telling is one thing, but believing is the amazing part. You bet....Michigan, which is our closest state to actually living in Mad Max World isn't buying McCain's crap. They've had decades of being shit on by both parties. You can bet they saw thru the Cheney-Bush BS and are smart enough to know McCain is more of the same.

After tonight Utah may be in play for the Democrats! By November 4th the results may be:

Barack Obama 59,945,226

John McCain 4 (him, his wife, his mother, and his brother) Of course if strangelove could vote the old man would be getting 5 votes. Sucks to be McCain.

If the election were held today, obama would win. You can relax. Unless obama really screws up, and I don't think that he will, you have it. Relax, the election is yours. Enjoy the debate because it really doesn't matter how it goes, you have the election. You may or may not have the 60 votes to cut off a filibuster in the Senate but you will control both the House and Senate with larger majorities. Obama will most likely fill at least one position in the supreme court and maybe two. You should be relaxing and enjoying this time of victory. This is your year. Tomorrow is another day.

Speaking of lies, how about the Community Reinvestment Act and the attempt by barney 'cupcake' frank and some of his demo buds who chastised the auditors who were trying to stop the abuse at freddie and fannie. They tried to get the head of the auditors sacked. Oh, well, it is only lies if it applies to the repubs and not if the dems do it. I guess that is the liberal way.

strange, I know it sucks to admit that for you, but I admire the fact that you did it. Thanks for the warning about the future. We lived through Clinton and I think we all understand what even a minority of Republicans can do to disrupt a government. Hopefully, you will be well served by an Obama administration in ways that you hadn't imagined yet. I hope so.

I'm banking on being served by an obama administration. You can bet on that. Thanks for being so perceptive. See you in four years, I hope!
