More Palintology
Remember that Sarah Palin closing quote from Ronald Reagan (delivered in a sing-song, badly off theatric delivery)?
Krugman finds that it came from a speech he gave to stir up doctors' wives to join the fight to block Medicare. Ah, yes. America before Medicare, "when men and women were free" -- to go without health care in their declining years unless they could afford to pay for it.
On a lighter note: Fox News gave her a Couric cleanup interview opportunity today. She recited the Supreme Court cases she'd never heard of when Couric asked. And she also listed her favorite reading material -- New York Times, Wall Street Journalist, the Economist.
What happened with Couric? That damned meanie Couric "filtered" her. Palin wasn't allowed to recite talking points, as with Gwen Ifill.
A heartbeat away. Think about it.

Save for a few Rwingnuts who spend their med time here I think you are preaching to the choir.
I cannot think of anyone I personally know who will vote in this woman. A close kin and ardent conservative will not mark a presidential vote on his ballot. I suggested Bob Barr-Libertarian and he didn't want to do the work to learn about him-them.

During the debate last night, Biden invited the audience to visit "Katie's Restaurant" in Wilmington - which went out of business during the Clinton Administration.

And there, eLwood, in your kin, you have the Republican mindset. "I don't want to lift a finger to find out anything for myself. Just tell me what to think, what to believe, and how to vote."
Honey, when even THEY won't vote for McCain-Palin, you sense they're in trouble.

>>Just tell me what to think, what to believe, and how to vote."
It's worse than I thought. I you accept the above then spin artists,
con-men/women, are shaping their realities too. They decide meaning
and values for you.
Wtf is this? The "silent majority" always puzzled me. Who they fuck were
they? Where did they live? Did they shoot pool? Fish? Screw? But that was
back when Richard Nixon proposed they follow his realities. Long time ago.
Now what is it? Are there more of them and they're listening to James Dobson?

Clarification please: In her Fox interview, did Palin, actually refer to the newpaper as the Wall Journalist, but the Fox "unfiltered " transcription cleaned it up, or did Max make a typo?

Ooops. I made my own typo in my post above. Max's report says she referred to the paper as the Wall Street Journalist-- still a very telling mistake if that is what she actually said.

Let me get this straight:
Sarah Palin quoted Ronald Reagan, the man who saved the U.S. from the ruin of Jimmy Carter, as stating. "freedom is always just one generation away from extinction."
Joe Biden, on the other hand, plagiarized a speech by Neil Kinnock, a British leftist politician, in trying to portray himself as an outsider.
I'll go with Palin.

Well, Pines, I hope your investments have done well recently. Otherwise, you may be thanking your lucky stars that Reagan and, more recently GeorgeW, didn't manage to torpedo Social Security as they had both wanted to do.
By the way, at the grocery store, when you're trying to make ends meet, well, don't fall for the cat food as cheaper protein idea. (Have you folks taken a good whiff of a can of cat food when you open in? From another room, hubby hollers "What are you doing? Open a window!" Or am I buying the wrong kind?)
Anyway, cook up a pot of beans and a pan of cornbread. But right now, run outside and scrape the grass off a little of that lawn and plant some greens. You still have time to get them up to eatin' size. (And thank you, Mrs. Palin, for puttin' me in touch with my roots. Or should that be "mah ruts"?)
Miz Sarah's annoyance at Katie? She makes herself sound like a petulant child. "I don't like your attitude, so I'm just not going to have anything to say to you. You hurt my feelings. You offended me. I don't have to answer your questions . . ."
GIVE ME A BREAK. Palin is a shallow ditz.
I'm curious about the Wall Street "Journalist" typo? misspeak? too.
