Your turn. But don't miss eyewitness coverage of the turkey drop at Yellville. I presume Dustin was in hot pursuit.
And I think I got a look today at the future of Arkansas's Bangalore. (You knew, didn't you, that Arkansas was the closest Hewlett-Packard could come to a third-world country without flying over an ocean and thus we got picked to relocate H-P service facilities from cities where costs, mainly labor, are higher.) Anyway, I spent a couple of hours on-line with an H-P service representative today trying to get a scanner to work. So sorry. A hardware problem apparently means my now out-of-warranty scanner/printer is mostly worthless. But she would be so happy to sell me a much advanced model and deliver it within one business day. No, it won't use the same ink cartridges.

Once again for the city boys and girls, TURKEYS CAN FLY.
Max buy an Epson printer and you can buy ink for just a few dollars a cartridge.

When the first source on today's Roy Cohn Award recipient came forward approximately six months ago, he and I decided to wait and see where the presidential election went and how this person's boss performed. Dismally.
First a multiple choice question: Which nominee for President of the United States is homophobic and has a gay chief of staff at his Senate office in Washington, DC?
John McCain
Barack Obama
If you guessed "B," you're in the wrong spot. You belong here. If you guessed "A," congratulations, you passed with flying colors.
The latest information on the outing of John McCain's Chief of Staff can be found at BlogActive. Also on the story is Sirius Radio host Michelangelo Signorile.
wonder who jerry COX @ AFC is voting for this election ??? sarah vp anit, semite SHE +=George Wallace in heels or a gay friendly ............. john mccain ???

Well Eark, turkeys can fly. But they usually do it from one tall oak to another from hollow to hollow. These turkeys at turkey trot may be able to fly but it is not uncommon that several don't. Either they are injured being thrown from the plane as it stalls or they are too confused to get a grip on what is required for their survival but the big plummet and a oooh from the crowd happens a few times a day at these things. And even if they get their shit together enough to do the big sail they often arc right into the side of a building. And not the least of the barbarism are the mobs of kids running through the crowds oblivious to people or property with little more compassion for the terrified bird than a prize to fight over.
No, there is not a lot to be proud of treating turkeys this way. I am sure the "foreign dignitaries" were blown away. ( Davenport and McDaniel did a round of pressing the flesh with them after the parade and even then they seemed kind of shell shocked) I'm always reminded of Shirley Jackson's, The Lotttery. The community all gets together in a festive way and then does something horrible. It really is a stunning event.

I sorta thought the Bible records what happens when someone disses God. I seem to remember a powerful lot of smiting going on in Biblical history. I doubt it's a good idea to imply God's reputation can be besmirched. This wingnut preacher may wake up tomorrow cancer of the bones of the face.....certainly the most inhumane terminal illness I ever witnessed.
I hear there is a link out there of Sarah Palin being dissed at a hockey game by the announcer and then roundly boo-ed by the hockey fans. If she's not careful she may find herself tied to a stake and dosed with gasoline, the Alaskan Joan of Arc. I'll find the video and report back as the evening wears on.
But the best part of Saturday is no activity on Wall Street! Enjoy today and tomorrow and prepare yourself like Daniel in the lion's den...for Monday. I'm excited to witness our first World Wide Depression in the age of living color and instant communication! This time we won't have to wait months for a Dorthea Lang black & white picture of Okies heading to California with rocking chairs tied to the roofs of their ratty old cars. We'll see it live and in color on CNN!
PS Note to God.....isn't this where you churn up the weather and create a dust bowl situation for the south and southwest?

We're proud of the turkey drop, and we call it a "drop" for a reason.
If those things could fly, they might get away. And then the children would cry.
God put wildlife on this earth to serve us, to feed us, and to provide us entertainment.
The people on this blog are the kind of people who would feed a stray dog rather than use it as a learning tool for teaching their kids to hit a running target. The kind of commies who donate to the Humane Society. Freaks.
Teaching our children about the right to be cruel is an important part of their education -- a key reason The Farm Bureau has put together a wonderful new coloring book, "Timmy and The Cycle of Life."
"Timmy and The Cycle of Life" tells the story of a young man forced to face the difficult question between killing the smaller puppies in his prize bitch pitbull's first litter or degrading his dad's breeding stock and threatening the family's dog fighting income.
It's a wonderful Christmas gift, and is yours for FREE with your insurance renewal.

Is Sarah Palin REALLY this dumb?
From a very, very dear . . . very, very old psychologist friend . . .
"Having devoted over 30 years of my life to the practice of psychology, I was shocked to discover the actual extent of Sarah Palin's diminished intellect although hardly surprised she is developmentally challenged. Her 83 full scale Wechsler I.Q. reported when she was 18-years-old places her in a range described at that time as Dull Normal and ,in fact, 83 was just slightly above the range labeled Borderline Retarded ( 70-80 I.Q. ). Her SAT scores were also in the expected range, thus serving to confirm her I.Q: Mid-30s Percentiles with 50 per centile being average. Careful analysis of her resume cited above reveals similar deficiencies in most every area of her life; 2.2 high school grade average, dropping out of college 5 times before finally receiving a degree after six years from the fifth college she attended, failed mayorality of Wasilla, erratic beliefs regarding the earth being but 6000 years old and Jesus co-existing with Dinosaurs,etc.etc,etc.
The fact John McCain was so instantly captivated by her undoubtedly speaks to his having graduated 894th of 899 in his class and later having " lost " 5 aircraft he was
piloting during his naval aviation career. " Birds of a feather flock together ", " it takes one to know one ", etc, etc come to mind."
Link's at clicky.

Norma, I had to do some digging when I read your link. I couldn't bring myself to believe that someone who got an 841 on her SAT could actually become president. Turns out the SAT part is forged: http://dawneden.blogspot.com/2008/10/nutroots-use-my-sat-scoresheet-to-forge.html
Then again, the first university she attended was Hawaii Pacific, where these are the SAT scores of the middle 50%:
SAT Verbal: 430 - 550
SAT Math: 420 - 530
Reminder, perfect score = 1600. So the 75th percentile at Hawaii Pacific scores a 1080 out of 1600.
Not to mention, she ended up dropping out and switching college 6 times.
So, regardless, we know that she isn't bright, and she PROBABLY scored very near to what that forged document said based on the credentials of the (frankly) unimpressive universities she attended. To compare, UA's average SATs are over 200 pts higher (combined verbal + math).
But we already knew she was a bit dim.

The average ACT score at Hawaii Pacific College is around 19 (converting SAT scores to ACT scores).
19. Nineteen. (A perfect score is 36.)
Let's put this in perspective. The average ACT score in Arkansas is 20.5. So the average score at Hawaii Pacific College is lower than the average score of high school Arkansans--many of whom don't even go to college
You should be very troubled when your potential commander in chief, Sarah Palin, scored a lower ACT score than your average high schooler in a poor southern state.
Link to average ACT scores by state: http://www.mibazaar.com/education/actscores.html
Wow.

So, JD, I'm lazy and didn't do any digging...........but you are saying some of the info shown on that pdf for Palin is forged? While I enjoy making fun of her because she is obviously not qualified for higher office, I don't think we should engage in the same things the hate mongers on the right do by faking stuff and trying to pass it off as truth. I think the Democratic Party did enough damage to itself in the primaries and shouldn't further act like Republicans, else there's no distinction.

Standardized testing is unreliable at best. The problem with Sarah Palin isn't stupidity, but ignorance and evil ideas. Her fault, dear Brutus, is not in her genes but in her self. Believe me, for I am nothing if not critical.

CiCi, yes, I'm saying it's forged, and we shouldn't use it.
I think it's pretty safe to say that people who frequent the AT Blog are more informed/intelligent than the average person. Not boasting, just stating the obvious.
