Palin shucks her duds

Catch your breath, boys. I only meant to imply that she's saying she's put aside her $150,000 wardrobe in favor of her second-hand stuff. Uh huh.

Comments

Oh, woopie.
I'll wear clothes made out of recycled beer cans (sure I can find some, somewhere) if they'll make ME vice president. But I draw the line at using my son to score political points. That woman makes me a little ill. Nine more days. Nine more days. Nine more days.

Oh Jesus......I've never seen people cheer about clothes before! What next personal choices in feminine products? Sarah....the point is that someone, you or McCain or some douche bag high official in the Republican Party spent 150 thousand dollars on clothes to cover your well-formed ass.

It doesn't matter who "owns" the clothes, but can I make an appointment now to look in your closet 1 year from today? Someone spent what we make in 3 years on clothes for you so you can go out and tell other dumb saps you're just a working gal like them. What horseshit! What idiots those cheering crowds are, applauding your clothes! Will you ask them to applaud your makeup person tomorrow?

I've seen high school student council elections run with more intelligence than the McCain-Palin crowd has exhibited. McCain supporters may be dumb enough to buy this trash....but the rest of us are holding our noses and laughing our asses off. What next...Palin showing us her undies have holes in them? That McCain washes out his soiled Depends and wears them twice before he gets a new pair?

This kind of stuff would tickle me pink if I wasn't crying so hard about how far America has slipped. Come on November 4th! You can't get here fast enough!

Caribou Barbie:

My wife buys all her clothes at Savers. She is far hotter than you in her Savers outfits than you are in your $150K dudes from Needless Markups. So good move and going back to your cosignment shop warbdrobe. Also glad to see you are "paling around" with sweet little Elizabeth Hasslebeck. She is starting to make Ann Coulter almost look and sound like a Victoria's Secret model with a Ph.D. in astrophysics and the signing voice of Trisha Yearwood.

"My aaycessories..."
"These are beaded earrings made by Todd's mom who is a Ubic Eskimo up in Alaska..."

Todd's mom is also a progressive Democrat, pro-Choice who ran for Mayor of Wasilla after Sarah left. Sarah's followers ran their own candidate and beat the Ubic Eskimo, Todd's mom.

.
Filtered media" Uh, who filtered John Edwards $400 hair cut which ran on FOX and other talkies for two months, so long in fact we still recall it?

If you really are just a simple Alaskan soccer mom why did you need the $150,000 wardrobe in the first place? Trying to be something you are not? Does the Vice Presidency pay anymore or does it pay less than Gov. of Alaska?

Sorry Queen Dingbat, the wardrobe bell has been rung. You cannot unring it.

Today's best letter to the editor
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

I have often read Paul Greenberg's columns and appreciated the clarity, style and common sense of his writing; therefore, it pains me to state that in my eyes he has sacrificed every shred of credibility and respect that I once held.

As an educated, informed and thinking citizen, I was appalled at John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate, most especially in view of the many qualified choices he might have made if gender was a factor. Palin's lack of presence might be understandable-beauty pageants can't prepare one for everything-but her woefully incomplete education, her sad lack of command of the English language and her inability to appreciate her own inadequacy in the potential position of vice president are all things that make me cringe

An opinion column may exempt the writer from the need to shed bias, but it should not absolve him of any need to bring a critical consciousness to his task. I am, henceforth, no longer one of Greenberg's readers. It is wholly a shame to realize that he is no longer someone I trust or admire.

Talk about dumb...this is dumb. What a flip flopping waste of money/time. And, I was on her side on this one...just didn't think it was that big a deal. But changing her mind after the expensive purchase makes her...just right for McSame.

Yet another A+ headline. Kudos, Max! That's funny on more levels than I can count.

Yes, it's a Big Deal. The RNC and the right-wing media made a HUGE deal of John Dean's $400 haircut. For weeks!

Suddenly, Palin's $150,000 wardrobe, purchased with RNC funds, is "inconsequential."

Oh, the hypocrisy (to paraphrase Joseph Conrad).

And Starguy7? You have NO IDEA how many purchases I've made and make at Savers! LOVE it!

I never tell anybody. But I can score entire outfits that look "designer" for less than $50.

I have taught workshops in various cities to underprivileged women (and men) on how to buy entire seasonal wardrobes (spring, summer, fall, winter) and look terrific for $200 or less per season. Where to go, what to look for.

Yeppers. True.

Savers is a great resource. And SOME of the profits go to ARC of Arkansas.

So I'm nearly always the most fabulous woman in the room.

Unless Dawn Vandiver, that bitch, is there.

And she's a dear friend, BTW.

That bitch.

GOD, can she dress!

If God loves Democrats, of which there is gathering proof after our 28 years in the wilderness, Palin will again be on the Republican ticket in 2012.

Please?

Which reminds me.

I'm giving it away for nothing, for once in my life.

To the "Caption This" winner of the A-T blog contest at clicky! Aren't you excited?

Neither is Max.

But I don't care because Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Richard N. Moore (a very, very dear very, very old friend whom I know as "Dick" -- and his wonderful wife, Beverly -- another very, very dear, etc.) is my attorney of last resort.

So, no matter how far I push my blog's envelope, no matter how annoyed Max gets (I mean, HE'S the one who invited me to blog here for NO remuneration, after all, and so far he's been WONDERFUL even though I suspect if I invoice him he might turn on me, plus his wife, Ellen, is another Judge and you know how THEY are so you don't mess with them), Dick is my fallback.

Minimized my sentence and fine on my "Chenal Escorts" arrest and everything. Standup guy.

If you want to win my fabulous heirloom trophy for Best Caption, just click me for full details!

Yes, that is all very interesting. But, how is any of this lengthy deviation of Palin's going to help my 401k, job security or house forclosures?

I didn't think so.

Hold it, guys. I think you're missing the main event here. Miz Sarah has a favorite consignment shop in Anchorage.
Still don't see where I'm going? Well, she has to dump the clothes or pay taxes on them, right? (Ok, so she says she's not gonna wear them anymore. I say, not for a few days . . .) They're used, some of 'em anyway. Take 'em back? Give them to charity? Or were they going to find their way to a certain Anchorage consignment shop before being hung in a certain Wasilla closet?
Say, I wonder what the Anchorage fashion maven thought when she saw Gov. Sarah wearing one of her old castoff gowns to inauguration festivities. Wonder what the lady told her friends?
Oh, and that black number Mayor Sarah was photographed wearing way back? Consignment shop? Mmm, maybe. But I doubt it. Kids clothes? Sure. Business apparel? Not so often. In all my years of scouting, I've found one really nice jacket. Of course, size does have something to do with it and I limit myself since I refuse to consider wearing a dress or skirt 99.9% of the time. (Panty hose -- Jazzy knows what I'm talking about.)
Ah, but back to the point -- not continuing to wear the clothes is about as stupid as the RNC buying them in the first place. Like eLwood said, you can't unring the bell.
Pssst, DBI, you do realize this may all be your fault. After all, you were the one complaining about her wearing the same red and black outfit all the time.

Stupid, stupid, stooopid......

Who cares what she wears or whether the campaign is dumb enough to buy designer clothes for their soccer-mom. The problem is her education. The money would have been better spent on a tutor, for god's sake! They can dress er in off the rack or in diamonds, but she's still not the brightest, and I really can't see the difference in appearance from before all that money was spent anyway.......

She take off and puts on the clothes, but her lack of intellect stays the same.
