Pressly tribute

Brian Chilson photographed the remembrance placed outside KATV anchor Anne Pressly's home on Club Road. She died Saturday night of injuries in a beating by an intruder early Monday. Police have announced no progress so far in identifying a suspect.

I have nothing by sympathy for her family and hope this all comes to a resolution.

Hopefully the LRPD is making great strides at tracking down the criminal and perhaps they already have a suspect and are only waiting for him to show up.

I have no desire to know any more details of the crime, still it puzzles me that there has been no more attempt to reach citizens who might have seen something suspicious. We know she was a restaurant shortly before the murder. Which one? Perhaps someone was walking their dog and saw something out of the ordinary. There are rumors that video exists which may show the car. Even a small detail like "white SUV" might jog the memory of someone who was out that evening.

Damn!

When I heard the sad news I said "ohhh..." and my breath seemed to be sucked out of me. I hoped for Anne's recovery and the word on who had done such a horrible thing.

I was surprised at my response at first but then it dawned on me that even though I never met her personally Anne Pressly was a visible part of our Central Arkanasas community.

Local celebrities are as much of the local community as favorite parks, schools or ball teams. I am still surprised that I personally feel a loss of someone I have never met.

My heart goes out to Anne's friends and family and the LR Police. We need whoever is capable of such a violent senseless act to be taken out of society.

I know of people in the immediate neighborhood who the police have never talked to, yards that have never been searched. I sure hope the Little Rock police are doing a better job than they appear to be doing.

Neighbors say they say the police dusting for fingerprints on the front of the house on WEDNESDAY!!

Why are the police not taking down the license plate numbers of cars that drive by?

"I sure hope the Little Rock police are doing a better job than they appear to be doing."

I do, too, Polecat, and I suspect they are. Somebody at Sunday brunch today said there are reports that Anne's house had one of those oversized doggie doors that allowed her dogs to exit and enter at will, thus speculation has arisen that the murderer might have been able to enter the residence by squeezing through the door. A close friend in the Heights has a similar door, one so large that her 7 and 9-year-old grandkids crawl through it when visiting. For years, we've tried in vain to persuade her to have a smaller door installed. Maybe she'll be more receptive to the idea now.

Mud Turtle you saying white SUV jogged my memory. I drove down Kavanaugh that night around 9. I saw a white, late model Tahoe, with custom rims and a lot of tint in the U.S. Pizza parking lot... They were driving kind of erratically and I noticed them. I also noticed three young males that did not look like they were from around that part of town walking towards Starbucks too. I did not remember until I read your post. I am going to talk/think a few things out before I decide what to do. Really weird.

While your reply was likely tongue in cheek, the importance of your information might vary depending on whether the gathering had been at US Pizza or out west at Grumpy's.

You never know. About 20 years ago, someone robbed a bank on Kavanaugh. Police quickly released the information that the robber was wearing a blue sweat suit and fled on foot. With hours they received a call from a mom who had been driving back from nursery call who had seen a man in the area wearing a blue jogging suit get in a dark colred car with one door painted a lighter color. It was one more piece of evidence that led the police to the robber.

Shoot, you might even have a neighborhood McCain backer who has installed a security camera in his front yard to monitor the sign.
