Shale watch

I'm reminded by an item I just added about a Chesapeake Energy gas pipeline agreement that our Shale Watch blog is well underway. Gerard Matthews, who's written for us about Fayetteville shale issues, is going to be rounding up news related to shale exploration in Arkansas and elsewhere.

If you have topics or questions, write Gerard at gerard@arktimes.com

Also feel free to post questions, comments on any of the items posted on the blog and we'll get to them as we're able.

Way to go, Max. The Arkansas Democrat is so retarded when it comes to gathering the news of really important issues like this. Walter Hussman doesn't want to offend his buddies who are making zillions off the extraction of resources.

The Fayetteville shale is such an important issue for all Arkansans, whether they realize it or not. The massive drilling will cause untold damage to water supplies and to adjacent private properties. Chesapeake and other drillers would have the public believe there is no downside to drilling in the Fayetteville shale to extract natural gas. Yes, there is money to be made and income for the State of Arkansas. There is an unknowable cost to pay for all the environmental damage that is being and will be caused by all the drilling- damaged or destroyed roads, poisoned water supplies, etc.

This is one more case of what you don't know not only can but will hurt you!

That horse is out of the barn boys. Tell us something that makes sense. Once again, there is no democracy without an independent free press.
