The 'gay agenda'
Andrew DeMillo's weekly analysis turns to the Family Council's going all-gay-bashing-all-the-time in its campaign to throw up additional roadblocks to adoption and foster parenting. He thinks Gov. Mike Beebe's emergence on the issue -- and generally against Initiated Act 1 -- is a sign the Family Council can be beaten. Hope so. And a tip of the hat, again, to Beebe for stepping up.
But I do have one question for reporters to ask Jerry Cox, who's waving the sexual bloody shirt to appeal to prejudice -- no matter the harm to children and no matter the scientific testimony that refutes him. What is this "gay agenda" exactly? After equal treatment under the law -- boy, that's perverted -- what is it? Please be specific.
You gotta love how Cox thinks Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families is a "pro-gay group," except when it comes to opposing the state lottery, as he does. Then they're just red-blooded God-fearing Amuricans just like ol' Jerr.
But, hey, Jerry, maybe you better put in a call upstairs. What if opposition to the lottery is part of the "gay agenda"?

Logic and internal consistency have never been these cretins strong suit. I bet they don't particularly have much use for the Methodists either except for their mutual hatred of lotteries.

Homosexual Education Manual for Members of the Arkansas Family Council
Lesson 2
From Dr. Gregory M. Herek, Ph.D. of the University of California-Davis
Other researchers have taken different approaches, but have similarly failed to find a connection between homosexuality and child molestation. Dr. Carole Jenny and her colleagues reviewed 352 medical charts, representing all of the sexually abused children seen in the emergency room or child abuse clinic of a Denver children's hospital during a one-year period (from July 1, 1991 to June 30, 1992). The molester was a gay or lesbian adult in fewer than 1% in which an adult molester could be identified - only 2 of the 269 cases (Jenny et al., 1994).

Maybe its me, but does Jerry Cox have a Ted Haggard-Mark-Foley-self-hatred-gay-hate-on-my-mind-all-the-time thing going on.
Maybe its just me.

Kiss my skinny white............ jerry cox
Jerry Cox = Arkansas's version of Fred Phelps. Arkansas Family Council President Jerry Cox has accused the state Department of Human Services of having a " gay " agenda. I have listened too this conducter of "gay hate" for many years and finally reached my boiling point this morning. Opening the paper and reading the above headlines. Cox's christian , holier, divine, sanctified attitude sucks. His proposal that gay couples should not be able too adopt foster children, nor should straight couples who are not married, only harms the children. Everyday in Arkansas there are some 3700 foster children in state custody with roughly 1100 foster homes available. Let's penalize the children Jerry, let's make their days and nights just a little more miserable. You sleep well tonight in your middle class home, while these children would only love too have a place to call home. who pays for your home jerry and who pays you to harm these children ?? with your stupid waste of the voters time i'm voting against AFC and any thiong you dream up on my ballot your crazy i want to know who pays you and the arkansas family councial and if you have ever had a real job thats not bashing gay tax payers ??? IN Arkansas i believe the gays pay their taxes
(not finished writing this yet) ILL be back soon this guy should be the one locked up . and its a shame arkansas has so many children in foster care maybe if you gave that family a JOB and not stupid comments to our locial papers we might be able to invest in the foster children and not jerry COX christian welfare he begs for money all the time and fools the people who fund him and his family maybe some one in the media might ask where he works or who pays him and he phoney ORG does AFC recivive any of our tax dollars to run his homosexual hate factory ??? if so i wish my state rep and state senator disrist 33 sentor would STOP funding this nut with my tax dollars come on MAX ask where he gets his money and for the afc board of director who funds these nuts ?? also how much does he make in income how much dose a christian sermon for jerry cox cost these days ???

okay...stop the press and take notes...here's the GAY Agenda!
And there's not one..but TWO!!
Number One: This is what I hope to see and am working to see in my lifetime. We want to no longer be forced into second-class citizenship status. We want our lives and contributions, including our tax dollars to be protected and valued equally as are our heterosexual brothers and sisters. To not be afraid of being legislated against at every turn, of having our property defaced, our children insulted and to not be physically, mentally and spiritually attacked by pulpits, fists and guns. Our agenda wants us to be safe from being fired or evicted on the sole basis of our sexual orientation.
Number two: This is my daily Gay Agenda which is really more like this: Can I pay the rent, will the car start, "what do you mean you left your new shoes at your friend's house", balancing the check book, work, washing dishes, going to the grocery store cause my granddaughter told me right as I was going to bed that she needed supplies for a school project due the next day, going to care for my mom when she had a heart attack, taking care of sick kids, "not tonight honey....I'm exhausted", making sure homework gets done, can I afford those new tiress...yep..there it is...the real gay agenda...glamorous ain't it?
Jerry Cox = TERRORIST

Max, I think it would not hurt gays to not be able to adopt and it is not punishing them, either!
I know a child would be hurt very badly to grow up in a deviates house. VERY BADLY!
The world needs to be rid of homosexuals.. Had some when I was younger that tried me and if it happened to day I might kill the sob.

If there was a god old chasv would melt the minute his ass touched the church pew in the morning. And pray tell chasv, how shall we rid the world of homosexuals? Shoot them? Stab them? Run over them with our cars? Beat them to death with ball bats? Throw acid on them? Burn them?
What's your plan to kill all the homosexuals?

chasv,
sorry to get back to you so late, but Richard Pryor special on the Comedy Channel, fuball roundup, etc, Saturday night stuff.
But anywaz, Cox's scheme is not limited to punishing homo couples. In fact his Initiated Act #1 does nothing to prevent a gay man or woman from fostering or adopting a child.
However, his brush stroke is broad. The Act could easily prohibit a grandparent from adopting their own grandchild or an aunt from adopting a niece or nephew.
It's a poorly conceived act.

texmex,
you are great! we definitely think alike!
i have a question, though. do you think the supporters of defeating Act 1(like me) stand a better chance by toning down the "gay" rhetoric? a legitimate question, i think.
i have been pretty vocal here about my oposition to the measure. i just wonder if you think we stand a better chance of winning the overall argument by steering away from the "gay" angle? i'd hate to see us lose the bigger argument by relying on the "adult" issues. i think the group against this measure has the right argument, but i want to make a stand on social issues. i'm conflicted!

Chasv, when you meet God at the end of your life,
And discover She's a big black lesbian, will you choose to go to hell rather than spend all eternity with Her?
She loves you real good, and will keep loving you real good in heaven, if you let Her.
It's your choice--salvation and love or damnation and hate.

dbi, that is the right question but I think if God can't rid the world of them we'll just have to do our best to contend with 'em. He explained that when he told us about the wheat and the tares.... He said wait till the end when they will be separated and the wheat will go to heaven and the tares will be cast into the lake of fire and be burned up.
I didn't think a lot before I said that.. but I really, really, hate for one to try me. They are deviated n their minds.
MuddlingThrough, I have seen the Lord and he is not anything like your imagination has conjured up.
Mens hearts are evil continually. We are all born in sin therefore we are all sinners.
elwood wrote,

el, I don't think you're reading that right,, you are trying to deceive people into voting for that act 1, ain't ye.

dbi, there is a God and my ass didn't melt this morning when I sat on the pew.
Really dbi I think the parents are not teaching their children it is wrong and it's a sin to deviate from what nature and God has taught us to do.
The word, dbi, is DEVIATE. Words are used to communicate and you must not twist the truth around to fit your own deviated thinking. Men are suposed to be men and women, women.. men are not to used like a woman. That is perversion and deviation from what is normal.

"it's a sin to deviate from what nature and God has taught us to do" Uh, Chasv, I really hate to tell you this, but in the animal kingdom, there are numerous documented cases of homosexual animals. So "nature" doesn't have a problem with same-gender fun. Only small-minded bigots do.

I don't know, chasv.
I wouldn't be so sure I had seen the Lord, if I were you. There are all those verses about how no one looks on Her and lives, in the first place.
And I suspect that when we do see Her at the end of our lives, many of us are going to be mighty surprised, a lot like Ruby Turpin in Flannery O'Connor's story "Revelation."
Remember that story? The heavens opened for Ruby and she saw all the saved headed up to the pearly gates--and they were all the people she felt better than and the people she despised, clapping and singing, with the good folks like Ruby carrying up the rear.
Ruby doesn't see the Lord in that story, but her big surprise about how the Lord seems to have a special love for the despised leads me to think that many of us are going to be surprised when we do see Her face to face, and find out She's all the things we most feared and hated in life, giving us one final chance to do what religion and salvation are all about: love.

elwood, there is one thing that is a true saying, i.e. seeing is believing. I know I saw the Lord and he spoke to me at another time, twice.
If you can't believe your eyes what can you believe?
That was not a church you attend at 14. Find a true church. An old person can still be saved!
