Not many were shocked when Curtis Lavelle Vance was found guilty last week of capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft of property in the October 2008 beating death of KATV anchor Anne Pressly.

i heard a young female caller on air america, college age. she started out talking about the constitution saying "we the people" not we, some of the people of a few of the states as mccain and palin are talking about these days as their important people. every since i heard her it has not left my head. i believe it is one of the most simple and profound explanations of the differences in this election and i dearly hope everybody could hear that message and understand and believe it.

"We either keep our word or we don't keep our word. I intend to keep my word to the American
people." McCain.
Which word?

The New Yorker's editorial of October 20 sums up with a few sentences that describe John McCain's complete loss of integrity in his Presidential campaign, in choosing Palin and then following her into the land of hate fiction:
"If McCain loses, or even if he wins, his campaign will be remembered as a tragedy in the Aristotelian sense, in which a hero is ruined through some terrible choice of his own. One can only hope that the tragedy will be his alone, and not the nation's."

It will never cease to amaze me... McCain has spent all these years in government, yet knows less than a regular blog/newspaper reader. Why has McCain been so successful at maintaining such a low level of knowledge? How does a person spend twenty five years in DC and not even know the difference in Sunni and Shia or not know a bit about interest rates?
McCain is dangerously incompetent.
At least there is now a reasonable chance he may lose in AZ this year. Latest polling placed McCain up 6 with 14 percent undecided. If team Obama dumps some cash and makes a visit... it's within the realm of possibility AZ could go blue.

As I just pointed out on another thread, this election is not about McCain. It's a referendum on Obama. You're either for him or against him. Arkansas is a great example. Feel free to YouTube yourselves into a feverish frenzy, but it really doesn't matter who is on the R ticket. All that matters is that Obama is on the D ticket and we're voting against him.
Yep. And it's going to feel good, too. I'm going this afternoon to vote early.

I'n not voting for either one... but for the life of me I cannot imagine why people would consider voting for McCain even with a gun to their head.

It's sorta dear and pretty much American that we keep talking like McCain at some point mattered, was a different person than he is now. But the facts say that McCain has always been McCain. He's lazy and says whatever he thinks you want to hear depending on where he is standing and what day it may be.
He's always known that few Americans match his words with his voting record. Before YouTube and 24 hours news, he knew that what he said yesterday was just dust blown away by the wind. But.....bless his old heart, today is a different world where every second is caught on tape or cell phone by someone. You can't be schizophrenic with your words any more. Notice how easy they keep producing this little clips showing McCain saying black on Monday, white on Tuesday, orange on Wednesday and so on.
His voting record, which is the the right of old dead Jesse Helms has never matched his mouth. Notice how easy he says he has always supported our troops 100% and yet his voting record shows he rarely ever votes for any kind of funding that will help our troops or our poor mangled veterans. He's a fake.......is now and always has been.
These same traps are killing Sarah Palin. The only people who still want her are those who take her picture to the bathroom with a box of Kleenex.... you big pervs! The woman doesn't study, doesn't memorize, can't remember who runs the Senate, doesn't know every other VP HASN'T been a Dick Cheney monster. I don't think that was baby goo running down her leg on that long plane flight.....it was her brain matter. I live with 3 smart women........Sarah Palin isn't smart and at 44 she's too old to be reprogrammed.
We should have this election in the bag......but I'm not celebrating yet...there is too much chance of a world changing event coming at us in the next 2 weeks. I wish there was a phrase stronger than, this is for all the marbles.......but, this is for ALL the marbles! Be on your toes....expect the worse and if it doesn't come to pass....we can double the celebration on November 5th.

To HELL with what he said in the past - in the PRESENT he gets creepier each day. There is NO doubt in my mind he is mentally impaired and headed down the slippery slope, and it shows. STILL advocating turning off the sound and just watching his body language and facial expressions. S.C.A.R.Y!!!
AND in AR over 25% of HILLARY supporters claim to be voting for him, and only 67% of all Dems support Obama? Another manifestation of the fact that we have the 2nd-lowest percentage of college grads - to West Virginia, and even they are supporting O'Bama at a higher percentage...last time I checked! Oh, yeah - technically WV was not a slave state...

Anyone remember the story about how close McCain was/is to the Georgian president -- how they talked by phone every night just before Saakashvili poked that stick into the Russian hornet nest? McCain giving us a hint of his upcoming presidential style? Scary as all get out . . .
