Wal-Mart on the attack
Thanks to a reader for finding this diary entry on Daily Kos, about a Democrat in NW Arkansas whose daughter was raked over the coals at a party by Wal-Mart execs because her father supported a local Democratic candidate. He gives better than he got. Others in Benton County have been silenced by economic extortionists, but not Arkydem. Sample:
She wasn’t in the door 2 minutes before she was attacked. And I mean attacked. They pounded her on her old man’s intelligence, how could a small businessman be a Democrat? How could a small businessman support these proposed corporate tax increases? How could a small businessman support Obama’s new health plan? How could a small businessman support the tax increases on the rich (over 250K)? On and On...
Now our daughter is a political neophyte. She was not prepared on policy or did she have an historical prospective of how to defend her old man from this onslaught...so, I’m going to do it right here for her and hope she’ll email her "friends" the answers to why her old man, a successful small businessman is a Democrat.
First and foremost, you work for the largest retailer in the world. You know jack shit about the challenges and the risks small business owners face. In fact, the company you work for has single handily destroyed 10’s of 1000’s of small businesses around this country. The fact the Wal-Mart is concerned about my business is laughable.

Comments
If the Democrats win next month I hope every one of them gets out of bed in the morning thinking of what he/she can do today to bust Wal-Mart in the Chinese-loving chops.

What kind of adult verbally attacks a teenager at a teenage party? Grown up adults can give or take, but to put an INVITED guest in this sort of situation is inexcusable. It says a lot more about the adults doing the attack than about the child or her parents. Involving a minor in an adult disagreement solves nothing and is just plain bullying. Disgusting.

The daughter is actually 31; check the commentary. I saw this on Kos this morning. Good read.

What kind of people, FreedomCounty? I'll tell you what kind of people, the same kind of sheep who vote W in office and support Moose Palin. That's the kind of people.
The SAME kind of people who would rather send jobs to China rather than support American manufacturers.
The SAME kind of people who would rather send an employee home because he or she has too much time on their time sheet (even before working a 40 hour week).
The SAME kind of people who pretend to give a rats patoot about the world, yet who still support the grubbiest nation in the world (China).
All Republicans can do is attack. Looks at W. The "you're either with us or against us" bullshit.
All these rich right wing GOPers think inside the same tired Neiman Marcus-bought box.
So, to answer your question with just a few examples. THESE are the kinds of people who act this way.

I hope she sends her father's post to those idiots, but she should have just shamed them by asking "where are your manners? Politics have no place at a friendly dinner party." and just flounced away.

As a small business owner, I appreciated the post. More emphasis needs to be placed on helping TRULY small businesses instead of helping multi-national corporations.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Riley et al have confused the terms anti-American and anti-Establishment. They are not the same thing.

My mother's wallet was stolen from her at WAL-MART stores, inc. This was all her money for Thanksgiving and Christmas. WAL-MART was not in the least bit concerned!
