Who could have predicted?
Brummett notes a couple of columnists -- particularly the DOG editorialists' favorite whipping boy Paul Krugman -- who foresaw our current difficult economic times.
(Noted: The same arch-sneerer who's derided Krugman all these months delivered another mash note to Caribou Barbie today.)

I glanced at Paul Greenberg's column and threw up in my mouth a little bit. Desperation and and misguided wish fulfillment are not mutually exclusive with this guy. Anyone extolling the virtues of Sarah Palin obviously sees and hears a different person than I have so far.

What seems so surreal about this whole economic fiasco is that ANYBODY couldn't see it coming. I saw it, my kids saw it, my neighbors all saw we lived in a house of cards that only needed a hint of trouble and it would all come tumbling down because it was all based on nothing and depended on everyone buying what they could not afford and never giving a thought to tomorrow. The cost of houses far, far outstripped their true worth and so have cars - and all this while the worker responsible for the house and the car made barely enough to feed a family and stave off bankruptcy. The top tier of our financial world has quite literally sucked the life out of the middle and lower classes and their greed is shocking, because no matter how much they have, they are never content and strive always for new ways of gaming the system and sucking out another unearned buck or two. It could not possible continue with houses doubling in value, electricity bills as high as some rent payments, and doctors' office visit fees equal to what some earn in several days work.

The ridiculous winking, you-betcha's and darn-rights that mark Palin as a moron get Greenberg all itchy in his naughty parts and lead him to endorse her for president in 2012.
Pathetic.

"Pathetic" is being kind. No one with a lick of sense or a working understanding of our world would, should or could support Palin, unless they cling to their outdated, disproved worldview.

jeesus greenberg christ, paul how many times have you been told not to write after mixing your lipitor, cialis, and scotch. (although i'm sure it was "wholly a pleasure" and required some dexterity to re-watch moose-elini's master debate and type with one hand)
methinks somebody's many years huffing pine bluff's nerve gas hath caught up with them.

Ah, that was nothing compared to a fawning piece he wrote a few years back endorsing that big Barbie doll for LR School Board.
She lost, as I recall.

Muleboy, thanks for the explanation. I once wondered if all the ducks were in a row with Greenberg. Reasonable and ration at times, neo-con fanatic crazy at other times.
I must have meds daily but not that kinda stuff. Mine help me breathe or absorb oxygen. Gave up
all but an occasional beer or wine long ago.
I have close kin who is a binge drinker. When sober is hateful and irrational. When drunk is likeable and makes a little sense.
Maybe Greenberg needs to stay drunk.

http://clapboard.org/temp/SarahPalinReport.pdf
Having devoted over 30 years of my life to the practice of psychology, I was shocked to discover the actual extent of Sarah Palin's diminished intellect, although hardly surprised she is developmentally challenged. Her 83 full scale Wechsler I.Q. reported when she was 18-years-old places her in a range described at that time as Dull Normal and ,in fact, 83 was just slightly above the range labeled Borderline Retarded ( 70-80 I.Q. ). Her SAT scores were also in the expected range, thus serving to confirm her I.Q: Mid-30s Percentiles with 50 per centile being average. Careful analysis of her resume cited above reveals similar deficiencies in most every area of her life; 2.2 high school grade average, dropping out of college 5 times before finally receiving a degree after six years from the fifth college she attended, sleeping with a secessionist, supporting Kenyan witch doctors, failed mayorality of Wasilla, erratic beliefs regarding the earth being but 6000 years old and Jesus co-existing with dinosaurs,etc.etc,etc. The fact John McCain was so instantly captivated by her undoubtedly speaks to his having graduated 894th of 899 in his class and later having " lost " 5 aircraft he was piloting during his naval aviation career. " Birds of a feather flock together ", " it takes one to know one ", etc, etc, etc.
And I have long suspected Paul Greenberg sold his zionist soul to the ArDemGaz when he assumed the editorship. I now suspect he also sold large pieces of his brain. His thousands of words devoted to pinings, admiration, love for Sarah in his latest column appearing Sunday also confirms it takes an idiot to REALLY know an idiot. Please God, Paul! Tell me it was only satire!
