AIDS Day

The Clinton Library will observe World AIDS Day tomorrow by displaying on the lawn the biggest single portion of the AIDS memorial quilt. About 125 12- by-12-foot panels will be placed on the lawn for display for one day. Read on for details.

It's a moving display. Monday weather may not be the best.

Clinton Center will Display the Country¹s Largest Section of The AIDS
Memorial Quilt

WHAT:         
- Clinton Center will display single largest traveling section of The AIDS
Memorial Quilt in observance of World AIDS Day
- More than 125, 12-foot by 12-foot panels will blanket the lawn in front of
the Clinton Library
- Weighing almost two tons, the quilt panels were hand-sewn by friends and
family members
- Each square represents a loved one lost to AIDS
- Clinton Center volunteers will carefully unfold and place the quilt on the
lawn on the morning of Monday, Dec. 1.  The quilt will be on display for one
day only and will be removed and packed up on Monday evening
- The AIDS Memorial Quilt started in 1987 as both a memorial and a
powerful visual communications tool for use in preventing new HIV
infections.
