Campus gunshot

A gunshot was fired today somewhere near the point where Ouachita Baptist and Henderson State campuses meet in Arkadelphia, but an OBU spokesman said no one was harmed and the persons responsible were taken into custody.

KATV is reporting three people were arrested. One shot was fired at a group of students heading to a dormitory, police told the station. No one was hurt.

My Twitter alert on this got a return tweet from a local news reporter who says it looks like a "domestic" incident: girl's boyfriend fired shot at ex-boyfriend.

More on the jump from Fox 16's early newscast:.

Dawn Parker of KARN Radio puts the shooting on a parking lot between the two campuses and says the three arrested were not OBU students.

BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT OUT OF ARKADELPHIA- 3 PEOPLE ARE IN CUSTODY AFTER A DRIVE BY SHOOTING.

IT HAPPENED LATE THIS AFTERNOON ON THE CAMPUSES OF OUACHITA BAPTIST AND HENDERSON STATE.

POLICE SAY THE SHOOTER WAS IN A CAR PARKED AT OBU AND FIRED AT A MAN COMING OUT OF A DORM AT HENDERSON STATE.

THE SHOOTER MISSED  AND TOOK OFF WITH TWO WOMEN.

ALL THREE WERE STOPPED NEAR THE CLARK / HOT SPRING COUNTY LINE AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.

RIGHT NOW POLICE BELIEVE ONE OF THE WOMEN WAS THE INTENDED VICTIM'S EX-GIRLFRIEND.

AGAIN- NO ONE WAS HURT IN THE SHOOTING

I would be very surprised if they were OBU students.

Could this be the beginning of a Methodist-Baptist war? haha

Strange....I hope you weren't inferring that they were likely HS students (reportedly, they weren't students of either college). If you stop, for just a second, and think about it, you'll realize that it's more likely to be OBU students rather than HS students. Think about it: Baptists are conservative, Methodists are liberal...which group is more likely to be armed? God bless the day you start thinking before you speak.

You have a vivid imagination. I clearly ruled out OBU students and said NOTHING more. Looks like a 'shootout near the ravine'. It is an inside joke.

By the way, Henderson is not a 'methodist' school.

Henderson Brown was established by the Methodists. It was a Methodist school.

Yea, a million years ago. Where are you from-----Cleveland? It has been a state school forever. Gee!!!!
