Charged in murder

Police have announced the charging of Willis Tucker, 32, in the fatal beating of Shymeccah Williams, 32, in her apartment on Mara Lynn Oct. 30.

2008- 126711 – CAPITAL MURDER 

SUSPECT – WILLIS TUCKER, B/M, 11-16-1975, 8520 TERRYSON STREET

VICTIM – SHYMECCAH WILLIAMS, B/F, 1-4-1976, 10921 MARA LYNN #B

INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 10-30-2008 AT 1614 HOURS

INCIDENT LOCATION – 10921 MARA LYNN #B

ARREST DATE/TIME – 11-4-2008 AT 1610 HOURS

ARREST LOCATION – 700 WEST MARKHAM

 

On 10-30-2008, John Turner was in his apartment when his neighbor, Shymeccah Williams, knocked on his door.  Turner opened his door and found Williams covered in blood.  Officers and MEMS responded and Williams was transported to Baptist Hospital where she was listed in extreme critical condition with swelling of the brain and extensive facial injuries.  Detectives learned that Williams has had ongoing problems with her ex-boyfriend, Willis Tucker.  A DNA sample was taken from the crime scene and it was learned the DNA belonged to Tucker.

 

On 10-31-2008, Williams died from her injuries.

 

On 11-4-2008, a transport from Pulaski County Regional Jail was requested on Tucker who was incarcerated for Theft of Property.  He was charged with Capital Murder and transported back to the Pulaski County Regional Jail.
