Franken setback

The recount of votes in the Al Franken-Norm Coleman race for Senate in Minnesota grinds on, with no new clarity in view. A state canvassing board has rejected Franken's request to include several thousand rejected absentee ballots, though several indicated they believed a number were improperly rejected. This isn't the final word on the matter, however. Coleman has an edge of a couple of hundred votes, but with more than 3,000 ballots in a pile for review (a majority there because of Coleman challenges) it's impossible to say what the "real" vote is.

Man, I'm pulling for Franken, which sounds slightly pornographic if you say it slowly. Of course the Republicans will pull every trick in the book to throw out votes. They invented throwing out votes and as badly as their ass got scalded on election day I'm sure they're hoping not to have another go over to the D side.

I was thinking again this morning about what someone said a day or two after the election....how the Republicans had screwed America up so badly that a black guy named Hussein could get elected. Say that real slowly.....and WOW.....that's got to be record screwing up on the Republican's part. Not that I'm not proud of Barack Obama, but if you follow that reasoning on out it could have meant America was so sick of Cheney-Bush an atheist named Dogbreath Z. Hitler could have beat McCain.

Yes sir! Americans are as sharp as tacks! Just ruin every aspect of their little lives for 8 long years and 53% of us (not Arkansas) will jump right up and vote your sorry ass out the door. I love you 53%, you are my heroes!

I think it's long past time for us to have a comedy writer in the Senate. An SNL alum, no less.

to have a comedy writer in the Senate.<<

In the evenings you must watch two comedy shows, Daily Show, and "I am America and so can you" Colbert Repor to get the gist of the news.

.

And Al Franken is a Deadhead. A man who loves the music of the greatest American rock and roll band, not a brain dead man. He's smart and funny. I hope he wins. My candidates have been winning like crazy, and I'm loving it. Happy Thanksgiving.

Are we still the richest country in the world? Don't we all live pretty well? I know we still have too many with not enough and a few with too much, but we of the middle class have computers and high speed internet, Klipsch speakers and central heat and air. My mom is a cancer survivor who would have not survived if not for our medical technology. She's working like crazy to prepare a feast for our family, and she loves it.

Like many of us, I'm a paycheck or two away from the homeless shelter, but man, I've got it made.

Enjoy the holiday by giving thanks. It's good just be on this side of the grass.

Whoscrumdown says, "Al Franken is a Deadhead. A man who loves the music of the greatest American rock and roll band," and I think that's wonderful. So many Deadheads don't listen to anything but those sad pathetic old farts.

So: What's his favorite Talking Heads song?
