On the picket line

UCA students join Sen. Gilbert Baker with election signage. Theirs isn't aimed at his re-election obviously, but aimed at reminding voters of the special favors Baker enjoyed when buddyship, such as special housing for his kid, was in style at UCA.

Does Gilbert look like he's lost a few pounds. We hear he's acting like his nerves are a little frayed by Joe White's vigorous opposition. He snapped at a Conway politician last week for joining other Democrats, including Gov. Mike Beebe, in an endorsement mailer for White. Baker reportedly referred to them all as a "den of thieves." Should Baker prevail, I predict at least one other person will remember the remark. And he holds a veto pen.

A den of thieves? Really?

Mr. Baker, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, especially if that glass house was built by former president Hardin. I wonder how much building material from your son's current residence was used to build your glass house? I speak metaphorically of course, but my point still stands. It is unwise for you to group Governor Bebee in w/ a "den of thieves" for reasons that I think are obvious to such a seasoned politician as yourself. And doing this after you apologized to the Governor on equally fallacious charges of thievery? I think another apology is in order, Senator.

Kudos to the kids in Conway for taking it to the streets! Housing that is (unqually) divided MUST not stand! Right on!
