Whatever. Maybe Wes will go to church or something.

Or maybe a moderator will SOB or something. Like AmericaBlog, Huffington Post, Crooks and Liars, Daily Kos, et al.

Save Our Blog.

Good luck, Max, regulating free speech.

Begich added another thousand votes or so to his cushion in Alaska...

Free speech sometimes comes with consequents.

Church??? On Tuesday night??? I thought all good Southerners went to church on Wednesday nights.

Hi Jazzy, I thought it usually came with consonants...

I just saw a video tape of the 'welcome wagon' in the Castro District for Christians. It was so encouraging to see how tolerant the homosexuals are of free speech by Christians. I guess the believers were just being arrogant thinking that homosexuals really believe what they say. Silly rabbits, free speech is only for limited groups.

Perplexed..........I'm old, I'm tired....been at hosp all day with #1 daughter.........

don't pick a fight with me.

I hope #1 daughter is doing better!

Thanks Strange, double knee replacement.

Hi Jazzy, I hope your daughter's better, too. I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you. You're always one of my favorites here. Please don't be insulted by my weak attempt at humor.

Norma's the one that started this. I'm not for yelling fire in a crowded blog, either. But I've been vilified by both extremes on here and would fight for the right of both of them to flame me.

Good grief. That IS still going on over there.
We can hope, CamackLife. We can hope.

I'm cool guys, I'm cool............

brain is fuzzy when one is worried about a *child,* no matter how old that child is.

I know exactly what you mean. I've two of my own! How could you be old enough to have a daughter getting a double knee replacement? ;-)

Don't forget to click on a banner link while you're here!

.........and, she is the one who was born deaf so, I had to do the *signs* today too........

stress stress

Perplexed.....I'm the oldest dame in Garland Co.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll say my prayers Jazzy! My boss just had that done a couple of months ago.

Don't forget, Jazzy. I saw your picture from the election watch party...... You may not be able to keep up that "oldest dame" thing now that people have actually seen you!

I"ll be praying for your daughter's swift recovery, successful rehab, and for your fingers!

Mea culpa, like Olbermann said the other night.

"I'm like a guy with a sore tooth, I can't stop touching it. Ow. Ooowww." Bill Hicks

In the good news vein (piggybacking on my posting a moment ago on the Cheney indictment thread), the latest among several lawsuits filed against proposition 8 in California was filed by the California Council on Churches, the Episcopal Bishop of California, the General Synod of the United Church of Christ, the Progressive Jewish Alliance and the Unitarian Universalist Assn. of Congregations.

More information at bluename.

A good reminder that in many parts of the country outside the fundamentalist states that went red in this election, people of faith are working hard to overturn the last bastions of prejudice in American society.

All of these conservative social issues won throughout the US. They won not only with evangelical help but strong support from the black and hispanic community. This isn't an issue that only enjoys niche support.

Funny how our children are always our little ones when they're injured, hurt or just need a hug...no matter how old. Prayers for you/your daughter, jazzy.

I found out from TV tonight that it's ONLY us extremist liberal bloggers who give a hoot about LIEberman's crap.

Sen Ted Stephens lost in Alaska and I am glad of that. We don't need people who flaunt the law and undermine our system of laws.

strange , cvd1941@yahoo.com

Blog unanimity! Ted Stephens, convicted felon, deserved to lose his Senate seat!

Wasn't law flouting how America got started?

"The United States is a nation of laws: badly written and randomly enforced." Frank Zappa

CONSEQUENCE

I'm 75 in body.........18 in head and heart.

If I'm reading this right Chas, you're old as shit.

Most men are still 18 at heart. That may not put you in great company, but in a lot of company! :-)

What? No comments on Hillary as the "probable" new Sec'y of State!??

Jazzy, Hope #1 Daughter "progresses". I guess she will get a pass on Thanksgiving Dinner preparations!

Carryover from late last night:

Bush signed a pact with Iraq-

All US forces will leave by 2011, Baghdad cabinet agrees
. Combat troops to quit most provinces next year
. U-turn by leading Shia cleric paves way for deal

(Just because come next year who wants to bet we hear "Cut and Run" over and over flung at
President Obama by the wingnuts)

.

Jazzy, mom to mom, I hope your daughter has a speedy recovery.

"I just saw a video tape of the 'welcome wagon' in the Castro District for Christians. "

Amazing how folks react to a group that works to take away their human rights.

Hey Nance, loved being with you at Rumba, wish we could do it again before I kick the

bucket.

I told CiCi on nov. 5th Hillary would be sec of state.....call me one of Zelda's witches.........

I seeeee the future.....whooooooooooooo.

Your the good witch Jazzy!

Can someone clue in a fuzzy OLDER fart about the "free speech" issues at the top? Speaking in code, or ??? THANKS.

Should have been pounding my pillow long ago, blame it on being overtired, not wanting

a phone call in middle of night, one too many of those.........but, I'm going now, I tell myself,

to rest up for tomorrow.

I was simply referring to Norma's plea to have the blog moderated (censored). It's not truly a free speech issue since it's Max's blog... But moderation of blogs, etc. is a tricky business.

This blog used to be fun and entertaining. God knows I appreciate Max for all the work he does, but for the past few months it seems that every thread gets taken over by crazies. I think I'll stand back and watch for a while.
Have a great week, month, year, whatever...you know who you are, friends.
I am just tired of the arguing back and forth.
That's how i roll, LOL.
Kiz

"Your the good witch Jazzy!"

You know, the other day when cici was called a witch all I could think of was "man, I wish you could be a witch....how cool would it be if magic was real and I could hold out my hand and the remote would just come to me on its own."
I think I would use my powers for only good....

Thanks and and ditto DBI

LRPD spokesman Terry Hastins on their progress toward finding Anne Pressley's killer, "we know it's a male"

Isn't it amazing that the party of the angry old white boys has now discovered people of color--African Americans and Latinos--just as it has decisively lost said people of color?

Suddenly, people of color are the new darlings of the raving right, insofar as the raving right believes (erroneously) that people of color will allow themselves to be willing tools in the only battle the raving right has left: to make the old white boys feel just a little better about themselves by bashing gays.

There's nothing left. There's no bone left to gnaw. Though they will continue spreading disinformation (that is to say, continue lying) about the success of right-wing culture war initiatives in this election, they lost decisively on the abortion front everywhere they tried to use that wedge issue in the last election.

South Dakota, Colorado, and Florida, all states that have consistently voted Republican in previous elections, defeated abortion initiatives.

Thank God for the gays. Without us, you might have the old white boys marching in the streets and waving one of the 38 guns they have stocked in their house forts for when their new friends, the people of color, come after them.

Clarification of previous post, final sentence:

"Without us to siphon off some of the rage at their loss of "rule," you might have the old white boys marching in the streets and waving one of the 38 guns they have stocked in their house forts for when their new friends, the people of color, come after them."

Jazzy, I sure hope your daughter is better this morning...... Nothing hurts like having your children hurt. My youngest seems to always be in something that keeps his mom on the edge. Hang in there, sweet lady......

As for moderation.......NO! Please. I really like this blog and I don't want my ability to post here to depend on a filter or someone's idea of what can or can't be said. I hope Max isn't swayed by the calls for restricting voices to those we like or agree with.

Amen, Ci.Ci

At least Rick Santorum got a word named after him.

truthiness - The quality of stating concepts one wishes or believes to be true, rather than the facts. Origin: Stephen Colbert

BEAM this Rogue's Gallery UP!!! While the Dem's are not outstanding/luminary in THEIR vision/courage, NONE are so vacuous as some REALLY dim bulbs on this list - chief among them Inhofe (what is it about OK senators?!!), Cochran, Stevens & Craig - bu-BYE to the last 2...
