Political doings
I"ve been out. The e-mail has been pouring in.
One, from a Republican of long acquaintance who adds a countervailing voice to our comments regularly, tells me that Dennis "What We Need is Another 9/11" Milligan, resigned today as chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party. Heck, the Repubs had a decent year in Arkansas.
UPDATE: My original correspondent -- also David Kinkade at The Arkansas Project -- now say Milligan hasn't resigned. He's just served notice that he won't seek another term as chair.
I'm also informed that state Rep. Steve Harrelson was re-elected yesterday as leader of the Democratic caucus and that Rep. Kathy Webb of LR was elected vice chair in a contested race.
Also, Andrew DeMillo writes about the somewhat rockier second legislative session ahead for Gov. Mike Beebe.

Comments
I read that Dennis "What We Need is Another 9/11" Milligan will turn over the keys to the dusty office on December 13th, so he's not out the door yet, but the door is swinging way back to hit him in the ass in the near future.
To be honest, I think the state Republican and Democratic parties let us down. Both appear to approve of Mark Pryor and that just sucks. Maybe if LIEberman resigns in a huff, Pryor will follow suit.
Or perhaps since Pryor is a monkey see--monkey do kinda guy, he'll reverse course and follow Obama over the next 4 years and then maybe I'll like him and we'll go camping and he'll bring the beer.....

"And two years ago, the state was in the midst of building a $1 billion surplus."
Interesting that DeMillo can recall this but totally forget about mentioning the HUGE
Lakeview, court-ordered school settlement that was made from 85% of those funds.
Nice Andrew.

Question of the day.
How many Obamas does it take to make a tuna salad?
Answer. Who cares, as long as they use Bill and Hillary Clinton's recipe.
