Pulaski election update

The Pulaski County Election Commission has completed counting absentee ballots.

The new tallies in a couple of close races:

House District 38: John Edwards (D), 7,044; Kelley Eichler (R), 6,970

Justice of the Peace, District 3: Kathy Lewison (D), 5,786; Sid Rosenbaum (R) 5,701.

The Election Commission still has several hundred provisional ballots to deal with. They'll be gathered from all over the city and submitted to the county to see if the voters were eligible to vote, both generally and in the precincts where they attempted to vote. It won't be known until tomorrow how many provisional ballots were filed in precincts that fall within these close races.

All military ballots received so far have been counted. But balloting is open for 10 days after the election for receipt of other military ballots.

Nice party affiliation there for Eichler.

ARK. BLOG: Believe it or not, that dollar sign was an innocent error. It is right above the R and I have clumsy fingers. Funny though.

The pre-typo label may be have just as apropos.
