VIP: Former Arkie

Mark Halperin's Time blog today lists former Arkansas Republican chief Clint Reed as one of the five most important people in the country not running for president. He's leading McCain efforts in Florida and North Carolina, virtual firewall states for McCain at this point.

Comments

I have good memories of Clint as a college student 10 years ago: popular guy on campus, basketball player, pretty serious student, but not a career party operative. I never thought he was a "true believer." It's amazing what a decade can do. Doesn't he have to eventually have to work on and lead a winning campaign? Maybe not, when you consider the candidates: the Hutchinsons and now McCain. That said, I think Halperin is delusional.
