Watch your head UPDATE

Rumor watch on the Pulaski County School District:

1) At this moment, no special school board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, as some had heard. There is another special meeting Nov. 25, which was set at a contentious meeting last night. I gather that some administrators' future would be cloudy, if certain school board members could decide their fate unilaterally. Superintendent James Sharpe and other administrators are on the hot seat for failure to act sooner on damaged roofs at two schools. My source continues to insist a special board meeting will be held Saturday. Board President Mildred Tatum conferred with Sharpe this morning at district offices.

2) A news release is expected this afternoon on whether the Clinton Elementary in Sherwood will remain open or be closed temporarily for roof problems said to be similar, but not as serious, as those that forced the abrupt closure of the Crystal Hill Elementary. A district spokesman says the Clinton decision will be announced following a cabinet meeting and posted to the website after it is made around 2:30 p.m. I wouldn't be surprised if school officials take the safe approach -- another temporary closure while repairs are made.

UPDATE: Classes at Clinton Magnet Elmentary will be cancelled Monday and Tuesday to allow for "a complete review and assessment of the structural integrity of the building."

Children are to return to school Wednesday morning at First Assembly Church, 4501 Burrow Drive, North Little Rock. A parents meeting is set Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at First Assembly.

For more details, check the district website. Heres' the district's news release.

Comments

That's the third time First Assembly has bailed out PCSSD. First was providing a home for Sherwood Elementary after their fire and the second was after the tornado damaged Sylvan Hills High School.

Not sure what your point is, Well.

Are you saying the church shouldn't help out, or are you just keeping score?
