Enter the FBI

If pay-to-play got Rod Blagojevich arrested, where are the investigators looking into strikingly similar allegations against Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman in a civil lawsuit? Answer: The FBI is on the job.

Comments

Uh er, humm,
Senator Coleman is not charged with selling a U.S. Senate seat.

Other than that we can buy the implied political bias.

ARK. BLOG: Exact parallel. He's accused of asking money for official action. No wire, though, apparently.

Next time Beebe announces his list of appointments take a look. Go back and search the donor records and you'll find a pretty high rate of donation equaling an appointment. I tried last year but it's almost impossible, since the records are scanned in and don't return results based on names. Hmmmm. That's one Charlie Daniels isn't too worried about fixing I'll bet.

Just finished watching my way though some early seasons of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Here's a link to an episode called "The Gang Runs for Office." Couldn't be more spot on. Plus you get Danny Devito for to boot.

Don't stop there. Diane Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi have relatives benefiting from their legislation. We need a thorough investigation of every member of congress.

Right on Sev- that damned Feinstein's hubby is a defense contractor.

Too bad Dick Cheney, who drew a salary from Haliburton-a major no-bid war contractor-
couldn't be investigated to the ends of the Earth.

I'm ready for a BIG HOUSE CLEANING. Bring it on.

why would anyone be shocked or surprised by the alleged activities. how do politicians raise big money? that is a non partisan question. for love or money?

Public campaign finance only! Make sure these elected critters get no better retirement or health care than the average government employee.

Should also note Don Young bowed out of his committee positions today. His money / legal troubles are at least as bad as convicted Senator Ted Stevens.

Chris Shays campaign manager is in money / legal trouble too.

We might as well ask why noone got prosecuted for selling presidential pardons and diplomatic passports several years ago?

I'll oppose Eureka's suggestion for "Public campaign finance only", but we do need better disclosure laws.

A Blogger you are usually way too sharp to make a statement like that.
We have pretty strict disclosure laws. What have they accomplished?
Corruption is wide spread on both sides of the aisle.

We need what ES has stated, severe limits placed upon allowed spending.

Our government at some point must be taken back from the highest bidder.
