Forever young
John Brummett explains today why he's giving blogging another go. He notes he'll be taking reader comments this time around -- after review. Tell him there how much you appreciate his approval of the inclusion of an outspoken sexual bigot on the Obama inaugural platform. Perhaps he can fire up a campaign to bring in some scrubbed up racists and anti-ERA activists for a full show of tolerant diversity. Or is hatefulness to one segment of society more acceptable than to another?

Imagine if a gay president were to pick a racist preacher.

Just read the article on the right side of the page about Princella Smith and her explanation of why a young black American could be a Republican. Here was part of her response: --But Smith, a minister's daughter who grew up in rural Arkansas, did answer the question: "I'm a firm believer in individualism and small government. I believe that people should be able to choose what kind of schools they put their kids in. I think people should be able to invest in private accounts for Social Security. I believe that taxes should be low, and that national security should be a top priority."
So, again, why is she a Republican. Surely she knows all that is hogwash because the GOP pursues none of those goals except, perhaps, gambling with SS funds in the stock market.

As long as you believe in Jesus you can hate whoever you want.

I've got an old pillow slip and dented baseball bat lying around here somewhere. Maybe I out to cut a couple of holes in the slip and send them both to Mr Brummett.. He could put on the pillow slip in honor of the modern bigot (Warren) and go out back and club something that feels like a hard working middle or lower income American.
I bet that twitter girl would be happy to put it on tape. I'm sure Blanche would love to watch it.

I thought Brummett acquitted himself rather well on his blog yesterday concerning this matter. See his comment on the link.

"So let this rascal pray. Nobody listens to those public prayers anyway. I don't, anyway."
Amen to that, especially if you're standing in a crowd that is threatened to be in the millions and it's as cold as a witch's . . ., well, you know. If you're at home watching on the telly, then that's about the time you head to the head. and if he's still goin' on when you get back, head to the fridge for a cold something or other.
