Open, at last
Sorry, blog devotees. While you all were back at work (or not) I spent a day in the woods looking for rare woodpeckers and not having much luck. The swamp woods of Eastern Arkansas are beautiful, nonetheless.
Carry on.

"The swamp woods of Eastern Arkansas are beautiful, nonetheless."
Yeah, you say that in December when no fear of 12 inch mosquitoes can attack. Come over to the Ouachitas anytime of the year and really see what Arkansas beauty is about.

"Don't think that President Bush's attacks against women's health are over. The current administration is proposing to divert Title X government funds to fake health clinics that self-identify as informative "crisis pregnancy centers," or CPCs.
"These centers are not licensed medical providers. They often have untrained volunteers whose only qualification is a strong commitment to anti-choice beliefs. They are more interested in pushing their own anti-choice agenda than informing women of all the options they have.
"CPCs portray themselves as legitimate clinics by offering free pregnancy tests, sonograms and "options counseling." But many of these CPCs have been sued for using deceptive tactics.
"They have misled women by dramatizing the negative effects of abortion and obscuring the benefits of condoms and other forms of birth control. They often target young or low-income women by offering free pregnancy tests and locating themselves in close proximity to colleges and universities.
"Even worse, the money the Bush administration wants to send to these fake clinics is from Title X - federal money that is supposed to be reserved for comprehensive, unbiased family planning clinics.
You can petition against the Sec of Health and Human Services at my blue name.
Thank you.

I had posted this on the previous thread as a response, but that thread has rolled off the main screen.
Rick:
Buffalo City is exactly right! And it has been a beautiful day here and hopefully will be the for the rest of the week. Haven't managed any trout fishing yet, but may do that later in the week.
Norma, I cherish the plaque and cannot imagine any circumstance that would lead me to relinquish it, so I doubt if you will see it on Ebay.
I appreciate your confidence that my 2009 will be a good one. I usually do have good years, however, so I am not sure why you seem to feel my last few have been less than desirable.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

It's a sight to see but the sound it makes is something you'll never forget. Apparently one only gets to encounter then when you don't have a camera.

What is extremely beautiful and yet nearly painful is to understand thw words at the small synagoggue in Helena, to reflect on the Zohar while realizing the architecture of the woodpecker, the slime mold in the fields, and the evolved species we call homo sapiens can be understood in the deeper spiritual way, the ineffable can be made comprehensivle, though to some perhaps irrational. Can appreciate the great love Miss Lily Peters and Sister Ethel had for delta. Perhaps a center, a small icon could be left for future generations that could be similar to the Bok Towers of Lakeland, Florida. No telling what a few good folks can do when their heart is in the right place.

I agree Cato, the west is beautiful. From here, HS, we drive 270 to Y-City, turn north.
Always stop at the gift shop where all the hummingbird feeders are.

What is extremely beautiful and yet nearly painful is to understand the words at the small synagoggue in Helena. The cry of the woodpecker could be accepted as a way God knocks on our thick skins for the impact of how history shaped cultures of the delt. To reflect on the Zohar while realizing the architecture of the woodpecker, the slime mold in the fields, and the economies of the evolved species we call Homo Sapiens can be understood in the deeper spiritual way.
The ineffable can be made comprehensivle, though to some perhaps irrational. Can appreciate the great love Miss Lily Peters and Sister Ethel had forthe Delta. Perhaps a Center, a small icon could be left for future generations that explains that which is "incomprehensible, perhaps along the lines of the Bok Towers but near Elaine. Fopr I think as healthier ecosystem management occurs, the flora and fauna will be once again in "high cotton". But does anyone in Arkansas care?
No telling what a few good folks can do when their heart is in the right place.

In case you missed it (or even care about it all), Bristol Palin had her baby yesterday. A boy named "Tripp". Guess she's trying to follow her mother's example in naming--Track, Trig, now Tripp!
Any bets on how soon she's pregnant again?

I have it from an unimpeachable authority that the true father of Bristol Palin's child is none other than Joe the Plumber! Will he be called to snake her drain again? Just another something to watch for in 2009.

Probably named after the infamous Linda Tripp.
Do these folks who pick weird names for their kids think about how it will affect them when they go to school and even worse, when they try to get jobs?

Jazzy, instead of turning north, turn south. Lot prettier that area. Go to Wilhelmina Lodge, etc.

For eLwood and Norma B
Trips Chart at my name

ES,
Please understand the image that is linked to your name is not a horoscope nor
Tripp's chart.
It's called a "flat wheel" and describes nothing. Btw, the flat wheel posted is inaccurate.
Before anyone attempts to delineate a person's chart they should first tell or post what the
chart actually is. There's too many bullshitters like Lisa who manage to keep
astrology as a sideshow.
Thanks just the same.

I just share links, eL.. and laughs. As far as i am concerned Tripp is just another word for LSD baby.
Sounds like she might benefit from your sage advice though.

That is some HUGE shit ES! I emailed both Senators about it.
I noted several questions on BHO's "change.gov" today regarding Israel's intrusive attitude
and belligerent actions which keep USA in constant danger. See first post in thread.
At least they're getting the word out. Thanks for the post. I passed to Greens on my list.

In case you check back in the a.m. at my name is a passenger list. CNN and others are reporting on the Dignity incident, but I can find no reports on MSM which name the passengers. One would think they have to work pretty hard to omit naming a former congresswoman and presidential candidate.
(clicky for the list)

This blog layout is still broken in my browser, FireFox 3.0.5. The posts are down lower on the page, and go pretty much all the way across it. There is major side scroll, and other problems. Guess no one else is seeing it that way, or they might have said something about it.
Oh, and it looks fine when I go to preview my comments, so it must be the main blog ayout that is messed up.
This page is messed up too:

I'm using Firefox, rablib, and my page is normal......
Strange times are ahead. Economy pretty much gone, Israel and the Palestinians at it again with even more fury this time, and Caroline Kennedy, as we knew her, disappearing before our very eyes.
One bright spot - I got to hear Zbigniew Brezhenski (sp?) tell Joe Scarborough this am, that his view on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict was "stunningly uninformed". Big daddy, Joe, didn't like that much, but Mr. B didn't much care.........LOL, I loved it!
