All I can say is BIZARRO!!

Congrats to all who are making it happen!

Don't get too excited. Arkansas gets a D- for college readiness. Arkansas received a B+ in "Standards, Assessment and Accountability" and "The Teaching Profession" but it looks like the main goal of teaching students is not being done.

"College Readiness" is NOT the main goal of teaching students. Upon closer inspection, you will see that the United States as a whole also receives a "D-" in this area (Arkansas 60, US 59.8).

Remarkable progress for Arkansas. Glad Huckabee et al stuck to their guns and responded to the court decision in such a progressive way. But the report still gives Arkansas a poor funding grade, and Beebe's miserly budget won't help. I'm afraid this Legislature's approach will be to do as little as possible. I'd much prefer for Arkansas to continue its educational progress than give me a tax cut I'd never notice anyway. But with Beebe touting the food tax cut, and Bob Johnson hoping to deliver more corporate welfare, the future seems dim. Or is Beebe speaking in favor of the food tax cut, but hoping all the while the Ledge will nix it?

Like that editorial the other day in the Dem-Gaz says, we don't need no college graduates. In this agricultural / factory-focused state, what we need are minimum wage workers. Not uppity "masters" and "piled higher and deepers"

Slydog, why be positive when it takes so much less effort to be negative?

Computerized football polls might claim Vandbilt is number #1, but we all know that is BS.

Notice that they don't include the academic prowess of the district.
