Beebe appoints State Police commissioner

He's Jonesboro tycoon Wallace Fowler.

NEWS RELEASE

LITTLE ROCK – Governor Beebe has named Wallace Fowler of Jonesboro to the Arkansas State Police Commission.

"Wallace has sought time and again to give back to the State that has given him so much," Governor Beebe said.  "He has always had a deep respect for the Arkansas State Police and will serve our people well on the Commission."

Fowler, 73, is Chairman and C.E.O. of Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Chairman of Fowler Foods, both in Jonesboro.  He previously served on the Arkansas Industrial Development Commission (now the AEDC) in the 1980s.   A longtime Jonesboro resident, Fowler and his wife Jama are involved in numerous charity and nonprofit organizations in Northeast Arkansas.

The appointment expires January 14, 2016.  Fowler replaces Warren Dupwe, also of Jonesboro.
