Fringe art -- poli sci division

John Brummett reintroduces his readers to Rod Bryan, a regular contributor here, and his participation in a new conservation alliance aimed in part at keeping the state from giving away its natural birthright in the exploration for natural gas. Rod's been a fringe political player, Brummett notes. The fringes -- advocates, politicians, blogs -- are not voiceless, however. In these many voices rests a power greater than their hoarded gold, as the union anthem goes.

Up late. Check out TCM and 'Shall We Dance'; another fashback to the last guilded age. The rich still call the shots. Nothing new. Keep pluggin'.

Brummet's blog is floundering. Arktimes still gets all the comments, and I bet most of the traffic too. I think he is buttering up Rod to get some of Rod's friends coming by his place. Very smart. Still, when election time comes around again, if Rod decides to run for something Brummett will give him the brush-off again. Brummett's job on behalf of the establishment is to keep political power "in the club".

If Rod is a fringe player... Then I may very well voice my opinion that Brummett is a cringe pundit, much more frequently.
