The smoking light is lit

The tobacco tax comes out of Senate committee today.

Max....do you mean that it will be discussed today.....or that it does have enough votes to make it out of committee today?

ARK. BLOG: My belief is that they wouldn't bring it up without the votes to move it to the floor. We'll see.

I agree Max. I think it will pass committee. The two things to watch are

1. Will Sen. Smith get the amendment to the bill that he is push for (meaning it would have to go through the House again) and

2. How will Trusty, Teague, and Smith vote? Knowing these undecided votes will help know the bill chances on the Senate Floor.

A birdie tells me that it may be in trouble. Seems not all of the Committee Members are there at the moment....
