Beebe: For open gun records

Gov. Mike Beebe said recently in an appearance on AETN and repeated again today that he favors keeping the list of concealed weapon permit holders open to public inspection, as it has been since the law was passed. A bill to close the records, introduced after the Times published the list, has passed the House and got a partial hearing today before a Senate committee, which adjourned before a vote.

WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD IT MAKE IF IT WAS PUBLIC RECORD, AS IT SHOULD BE, IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO USE IT FOR AN ILLEGAL PURPOSE, THERE SHOULD BE NO WHINERS.

PUBLISH THE THING. I FOR ONE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO IS , OR IS LEGALLY ABLE TO CARRY A WEAPON. JUST PUT YOURSELF AT THE BUSINESS END OF ANY GUN, AS I HAVE BEEN, AND IT WOULD BE A GIVEN. THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING THESE DAYS, IT WOULD HELP TO KNOW WHO WAS PACKIN HEAT. BESIDES THE POLICE, THE GOOD GUYS.
