Sorry for the mispost, but where's the comments on here over the proposed teen driving law? The one that restricts teenagers to no more than two teens per car?
I have no problems with this law as long as the state is willing to do two things, 1) buy cars for all teenagers, and 2) pay to triple the parking lots of the state's high schools.
The reasons for this legislation are somewhat valid, and I applaud their efforts, but haven't they heard of carpooling? How are our high school aged children supposed to get to school? Many, if not most car pool. Check the NLR High School website and click on the "bus schedule" link, and go down to "High School". It's empty. The high school aged kids don't have buses, not from within the city. They'd better increase the funding for busing as well. And the school parking lot is packed, it isn't large enough to accomediate at least twice the number of cars.
I did notice in the Ark. Democrat story about this, that they had made an exception for HUNTING (changing the time that kids could drive to an hour earlier for the hunters), but they drew the line at making an exception for kids that carpool to school.

Go to the NLR district website. It list the bus schedules for both the East And West campuses. Why the hell are these kids driving to school when they can jump on the bus? They are polluting the air and causing more traffic congestion. If they built smaller schools where people live then maybe these lazy kids could walk to school.

Saywhat? Yes. You're right. But try telling teenagers they're going to ride the bus to school. If a kid has a car & his neighbors can ride with him/her, then that's a better environmental solution than all of them driving. It looks as if the law was made specifically for the Little Rock area, but will apply everywhere. To me, it appears to be just another way for the cops to pull people over without reasonable cause.
