The Limpublican Party
Survey shows the vast majority of people don't think much of Rush Limbaugh's views. Republican base? Another story. May the party keep catering to him.

Who could be a better spokesman for the Gay Old Party than a fat-assed dopehead with
four ex-wives.
Little formal education means he speaks to the base, the very 'base', as does former
house painter turned dj, turned talking head, Shawn Hannity.
However, as the economy continues to collapse I shudder at the idea that these two
could promote a real demagogue into national prominence.
What does Huck say?

You libs are unreal. I bet you just looooove Daschele, the tax cheat, or Geithner, the tax cheat, or Jim Guy Tucker, the convicted former Democrat governor, or the impeached former governor of this state, and "president," and moral bankrupt Wm Jeff Clinton, or the numerous other Dems who have graced the jail here in this state like Nick Wilson.
You also forgot to read this poll, released today :" Readers of The Business Journal's Website are siding with President Barack Obama over Rush Limbaugh - but not by much.
In an unscientific poll conducted this past week, readers were asked "Do you agree with Rush Limbaugh's statement that he hopes President Barack Obama's reform efforts, including large portions of his economic recovery plan, fail? "
Of 383 respondents, 50 percent said no, they do not agree with Limbaugh, 44 percent said yes, they do agree and 6 percent were not sure." .....Wow...The Messiah NObama only beat Rush by 6 points. I love it!!
Jimmy Carter was popular in 1977, as was LBJ in 1965.....PLEASE be as liberal as you possibly can. Im BEGGIN ya !!! gobs of taxes, gay rights, marriage, lots of abortions, lots of troops in Afghan., "fairness" doctrine, spending out the wah-zoo, "uppity" smug arrogant NObama, more withdrawals from NObama-appointed cabinet posts, and spending on stupid teachers in stupid schools. The full monty !!!! be the real libs you want to be....and Ill see ya in 2010

Are there any talking points out there that describe how McCain and the Dem Congress would have done things differently?
Or how beloved Smirking Boy and a Repub Congress would have fixed everything within 60 days?
Why would anyone, especially the President, pay a moments attention to anything the whining obstructionist of the Right have to say?

"BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
In order to gain the political power they've enjoyed over the last ten years, Republican moderates and Reagan conservatives made a pact with the devil (faux Christians and Limbaugh's radical and pliable right wing misanthropes and bigots) to achieve the numbers they needed to defeat Democrats. It was a conscious political decision to manipulate and exploit ignorance and irrational fears in order to win elections rather than being intellectually and morally honest and lose them.
Today, those Republican moderates and Reagan conservatives are caught between wanting to disassociate themselves with and or casting out the devils they empowered, and the karmic reality that they don't have the numbers to hold on to or regain power without accepting and even falsely "advocating" values that are dividing and destroying their party. The survival of today's shrinking Republican Party has become so dependent on extremism, that they have no significant political power WITH or WITHOUT the support of America's most dysfunctional lunatic fringe.
The idiom about choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea is certainly appropriate as Republicans are facing the dilemma of choosing between two equally undesirable alternatives that both result in Republican impotence in mainstream American politics. They are reaping the consequences of what they have sown. Deifying George W. Bush cost them their credibility. Sucking up to Rush Limbaugh is costing them their viability."
Keep going after the dreaded tarbaby, DC. It's fun to watch you slime and slither with it stuck all over you.

>>Jimmy Carter was popular in 1977, as was LBJ in 1965...
Richard Milhouse Nixon was soooo popular in 1971. Mr. Republicon he was.
"Readers of The Business Journal's Website are siding with President Barack Obama.."
What does that tell you about actual conservatives Danny? I realize the seventh grade was
difficult for you but stretch out a little.
Yes, the majority on here still admire Wm. Jefferson Clinton and Jim Guy Tucker, both of whom were framed by Kenneth Starr. Tucker was convicted upon a law that was not in effect at the time he took actions which were much later on prohibited.
Your party still wears the mantle of
BLOW-JOB IMPEACHMENTS.
One name that is still celebrated is SUSAN McDOUGAL.
Has former AG Alberto Gonzales found a job yet? Last I read no one wanted him.
There's a little reading assignment on my blue name Danny. Take your time...say a few days.

Rather than engage in witless entertainment with diehards and blowhards, here are the latest polls and facts on the 2010 elections:
SENATE: 37 seats up for election; 17 currently held by Democrats, 20 held by Republicans. Of these 37 seats, 7 are considered weakly held and ripe for takeover by the other party. Depending on which analysis you look at, they're either all Republican or 6 Republican and 1 Democrat. Those possible changeover states are: SD, AK, KY, LA, FL, & NC -- all Republican. PA (R) and CO (D) are the variable states they are interchangeable from one list to the next. Of the current senators, at least 4 Republicans and 1 Democrat are not planning on running in 2010.
SENATE Prediction: Likely Democratic Party gains
HOUSE: all seats up for election; currently there are 257 Democrats and 178 Republicans. Based on the closest 2008 races (less than 5% margin), there are 23 seats that will be strongly contested in 2010 (15 Dem, 8 Rep). With rare exceptions, the party holding the White House with a first-term president loses seats in the mid-term elections. Current polling of voters suggest that the voters either see the glass half full or half empty -- 49% think Obama and Democrats will gain, 51% think they won't.
One should not forget the strong political machine which Obama and the Democrats have built up nor should they ignore the ardent fight left in Republicans.
Finally, Limbaugh has inadvertently given the Democrats an enormous propaganda tool with his "I hope he fails" comment. He can either be pointed to in mockery if there is a modicum of success and he can serve equally well as a scapegoat if there are problems.
The campaign in 2010 will likely go after the voters seriously hurt by the recession and it will be the old blame game. Do you blame Bush and the Republicans for causing it or do you blame Obama and the Democrats for not fixing it?

Interesting opinions Jake. Got a source?
Of course there's nothing like some more Paltry's List Senators to push things along or
one more STALL-TAPPIN Republicon closet gay to help out.
When does Tom DeLay's trial begin?

Technically, I think that should be "more money than ALL of you 'wordsmiths' put together."
But, hey, who's perfect?
What I want to know is: what the fuck does that have to do with the price of grass in Muskogee?
John Kerry's ol' lady has lots of money. Is that why you REpugs ran the smear campaign to keep him from getting elected? Osama bin Laden's folks are loaded. And that Madoff cat was doing pretty good for a while. Does the fact that somebody's got money necessarily mean they're not a douchebag?

And the door prize goes Rick Baber!
Many years ago when leaving the Republicons forever, after Raygun buddied up with the religious zealots, I came to realize
there are RICH REPUBLICON DOUCHEBAGS, in fact
most Republicans are working, one way or another, for the RICH REPUBLICON DOUCHEBAGS.
Danny is a good case in point. Notice how he carries water for one of them.
And what does he get? Biggest expansion of socialized medicine since Medicare.
Largest deficits in Am history from the party of small gubbermint.
Largest federal bureaucracy ever.
Loss of his First and Fourth Amendments rights.
And the ever increasing class of 'HAVE-MOREs' to which Danny does not belong.
However-
Danny gets to keep and carry his glock.

Elwood,
I just typed in "2010 election predictions" into Google. Can't remember if I used "+" signs or not. I think the one that said electoral college (or something like that) had the best charts and data.
Any prediction made now is just a parlor game.

>>Any prediction made now is just a parlor game.
Oh to say the least. I remember 10 months ago when Hillary was a "for sure" nominee of the
Democratic party. Moosewoman was knocking them dead last Sept, 6 months ago.
After elections MooseWoman led the pack, now it's socialized-Medicine Romney and Huck running a sloppy
fourth place.
But I always like a little conjecture to go with reality.
