Over to you

I'm going to make roast beef hash with leftovers.

Meanwhile, I'll take a point of personal privilege to mention that John Madden announced his retirement today. Boom!

Leaving the scene is the celebrity for whom I've often been mistaken, despite my superior youth, looks and physique. Separated at birth?

A spot of brew..Anderson Cooper had the quote of the day when he stated that "its hard to talk when you are teabaging". However, knowing the ones who are going beserk over tea bags, I find that most can talk with their mouth full.

On another matter, the far right has also gone bananas over HS report about the possibility (I say reality) of far right terrorism here in the US. Does that mean the media and political far right support, advocate and condone far right terrorism? To answer my own question, if it serves their political aims, well, yes!

Max, yes you do look like John Madden, but having never met you, I can only say, BAM, KABOOM, POW, that was a tuff hit but you know I like linemen, they just get down in the mud and root around, pushing and shoving. Yeah now that I think about it, that is you; pushing and shoving, rooting around...you just keep it up. No retiring now ya heah!

>>Does that mean the media and political far right support, advocate and condone far right terrorism?<<

Oh, I have no doubt that more good tea bagging Rwingnutcake militants are in the making. Timothy McVeigh never had a whimper of remorse and at one time he was a true-blue dues paying Republican. They've had decades of shooting doctors, bombing abortion clinics and forming armed militias.

.

And
Madden definitely has some Cossack and native Indian in his DNA some where along his
blood lines. Max looks perfectly French-Anglo Saxon to me plus, Max has more hair.

I saw Madden's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. they dont call it induction but I can't ever think of their word. He was even more fun to listen to live, and I consider myself lucky to have had that opportunity.

You know I did sorta wonder what Max was doing there at first, though.........then I decided the hell with both of 'em and went back to stalking, I mean seeing if Joe Namath had had the foresight to meet me in the crowd there.

He didnt. I expect he missed a flight connection.
;)

Max is a doll and manly man,,,,and those jitter bug moves at Rumba were

something to behold.

The judge is a lucky woman.

John Madden retired today?! And we care why? Next headline should be "Gumball machine at barbershop is refilled".

While BHO and Wall Street are on the same page...'It's all going to be alright'

the storm of foreclosures is getting up to full steam.

Just as teabaggers thought they have this bailout thing in their court
it's really just beginning.

Deliquent notices were sent to 150,000 more homeowners in first quarter 09 than in
08. In March a Forty Six percent increase over Mar '08 in bad mortgages was recorded.

Between now and May millions of homeowners will lose those "teaser rates" used to
lure them into fabulous homes and face the reality of mortgage payments going thru
the roof.

While gold is dropping based upon hoaxed economic news eLwood will be putting another
dollar and a half into the stuff before it begins another colossal climb.

.

I think Texas should secede -- and become a province of Arghanistan.

>>Does that mean the media and political far right support, advocate and condone far right terrorism?<<

There is no doubt any longer. This story's all over the internets and getting bigger.

Of course, the exposure of their inciting extremists to violence is good.

Then again, Alaska just teabagged Sarah Palin's choice for AG today -- a KKK-defending right-wing throwback.

Breaking News . . . My ruby-throated hummingbirds returned this afternoon, right on time!

>

>. Well sort of like we are glad that Durango's hummingbird returned today. Or that trees bloom or your baby girl gives old Dad a big hug for no special reason. One can live with the thought of a dear one passing and understand that is the way it is supposed to be...There are a lot more reasons, one doesn't have to look very hard to see goodness in the world, one only has to open thine eyes.

To me, losing John Madden is like losing Johnny Carson and Walter Cronkite. It's fun to listen to a knowlegeable person who seems comfortable with himself and doesn't try to build himself up at the expense of others.

I don't think I ever watched the old show "Diff'rent Strokes" so I don't remember the theme song. But here's a 1-minute YouTube of the opening sequence of that show, only the regular theme has been replaced by a sinister-sounding arrangement for piano and strings. The result? Surprisingly creepy!

I always thought of Max more as the Brian Dennehy type.

Johnny Carson, Walter Cronkite and Howard Cosell (less the monkey remark.)

Congrats on the hummingbirds durango. Our tulip tree sprouted '09 blossums last week despite
nearly being wiped out in THE FREEZE.

We quit putting out hummingbird feeders 2 years ago when only the bees and wasps used them.

There used to be enough cover in the neighborhood for the hummers to arrive. No more.

For the first time in over 30 years I'm holding a 10 day old infant today and tonight. We're baby sitting the our niece's new baby. Kylee is a very loud Aries and her mommy needs one full night of rest. I've given two bottles thus far but sweetie must do the burping. Had to recall the baby soothing rocking motion from years ago.

What is amazing me in this overnight babysitting accommodation is how our Parsons Russel Terrier bitch is taking a special notice of the infant and keeping a very sharp eye on the child.
Just amazing. When the child is on the bed Pippin the Dog, is there on the floor beside her watching like a hawk. Instinctive, intuitive? Both maybe. When the child is on the sofa Pippin the Dog jumps upon the back of the sofa and watches her intently. After Pippin's poopie walk she comes back and instead of going for her food or water bowls she checks on the child.
Amazing!

"After Pippin's poopie walk she comes back and instead of going for her food or water bowls she checks on the child. Amazing!"

St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, made similar observations and wrote this:

"Ask the beasts and they will teach you the beauty of this earth."

I'm glad about Durango's hummingbirds, sad about eLwood's hummingbirds, glad about eLwood's Parsons Russel Terrier's powerful maternal instincts toward that 10-day-old infant, creeped out by Hugh Mann's "Different Strokes" psycho thing and, frankly, have always considered Max Brantley the Escalade to John Madden's Hummer, as it were.

Speaking of which, GOD have I been traveling! Since right before Easter! More airports than Larry Craig. But in a nice way.

Tonight? A Daily Double Link-Fest! Only it's night. So . . .

First clicky? I am SO scared. Texas is threatening to secede and Chuckie's channeling John Wayne. What's frightening is NOT the prospect of the Lone Star State seceding: it's that even with Hillary in heels and Chuckie in lifts he's still shorter.

Tonight's second Daily Double Link-Fest is for Sister and all others who're for same-sex equality.

From Ellen Goodman.

Who'dathunk this would hit the Federal level this fast, after the last administration?

But it has.

Suit up for battle!

I thought Max was the model for that full color cutout in red vest in the LR International Airport concourse. No , not jermaine taylor..the other one

30 years since, eLwood?! I'm about to start giving you grief about bein' a crusty old librul. Really, 10 days old, huh? Oof. My kids are both under 4 and it seems that when you pull out of one phase another sets in (enter all you other crusty old libruls laughing at what I got comin'). And our crazy cat, Bella, has always hated people (because a mean old lady in a Caddy threw her out of a window and she landed in my wife's yard) but been keen on the ways of the kiddos. Weird.

And man...John Madden. I say boo on the retirement. What in the world is he gonna do?! He won't fly. He is addicted to football stats like a junkie and he is just damn talented. BOOM! Shoot.

I'm just thankful that I live in a country where a 73 year old man is allowed to retire.

Janeane Garofalo on Countdown..thinks it's pure racism at work with the Fox Inspired Teabag
protests. According to Janeane uber conservatives have over-sized, active limbic brain sections which push against their frontal lobes. Frontal lobes are where reasoning and calculation occur.

FOX and Murdock have much to gain if reasoning and thinking can be suppressed and emotional racism and outrage promoted.

Janeane is on blue clicky and just over half way thru the Olberman-Countdown show.

.

The 'bitter clingers'...
[CLICKY]

Scary stuff, bejeeus. And what's even more scary is the fact that these people are allowed to vote.
