The shape of things to come

I could do an entry like this every day, but I thought I'd pass along just FYI today's National Republican Senatorial Committee news release attempting to chum up unhappiness about U.S.Sen. Blanche Lincoln. Gives you an idea of what she'll be facing in 2010.

Interesting thing: Along with this propaganda from Republicans, I'm getting all kinds of whispers from that end of the spectrum about perceived weak spots -- personal, smelly political dealings -- among various potential candidates in a contested Republican primary. That could be fun, too.

100 Days… Here’s What Blanche Lincoln Has To Show For It
As Economy Shrinks 6.1% In 1st Quarter, Senate Passes $3.5 Trillion Budget

WASHINGTON – Marking President Obama’s 100th day in office, U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) helped the Democrats pass a $3.5 trillion budget resolution today – despite announcements from the U.S. Department of Commerce this morning that America has experienced a 6.1 percent decline in the first quarter 2009 gross domestic product (GDP).

“While our nation has hemorrhaged more than two million jobs since the beginning of the year, Senator Blanche Lincoln has eagerly helped the President and Congressional Democrats pass $4.6 trillion in new government spending in just the first 100 days,” said National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokeswoman Amber Wilkerson.

“The budget that Senator Lincoln voted for today doubles the publicly held debt in five years, and nearly triples it in ten years. That is money that future generations in Arkansas will be forced to pay for in the years to come,” Wilkerson continued. “In 2010, Senator Lincoln will be forced to explain to voters why she helped grow our nation’s massive debt instead of helping the middle-class families and small businesses in Arkansas.”

Well, the way I heard it, Arlen Spector only agreed to switch parties if Blanche or Pryor would take his place among the Repugnicans. Come t' think of it, I can't believe they haven't been tripping over each other to hold competing press conferences announcing just that...!

By splitting down the middle, she's losing both sides. She's weak with the Republicans
because she's supported some of Obama's initiatives, but she's weak with the
Democrats because she doesn't support the things that matter to the working man --
health care, fair wages, those small things.

Just so long as Mz Blanche continues to lower tax rates for the wealthiest 1% of the nation
they will manage her re election just fine. They will get all the little noise makers to quiet
down long enough for her to be reinstated.

Now should she ever join ranks with Rep Charlie Rangel, of the Democratic Wing of the
Party, she could be in real trouble.

>>perceived weak spots -- personal, smelly political dealings -- among various potential candidates <<

and By All Means let's see all the stains in all their underwear.

It's no surprise that potential Republican challengers for Blanche's seat might have skeletons in their closet, after all....they're Republicans! To be a Republican you must have an overblown sense of entitlement. And unless your name is Rockefeller, most Republicans have to make their own money....and that's where them skeletons start popping up. Because they think they're entitled to it, they can justify any deal that puts cash in their pockets or removes some costly regulations or lowers their taxes or their bottom lines. Illegal? If they do it, it can't be illegal...huh?

They take more, they think they deserve more. And though hardly a day goes by when one of them isn't caught with their grubby fingers or their gubby sex parts where they shouldn't be, they think they're smarter and better. I say GET A MIRROR!

But like Pryor's race last year, why would the Republicans want to replace Blanche? Hendren with all his in-law's help wouldn't be a better Republican than Blanche is. So I wouldn't be surprised if Blanche draws no Republican opposition in the end. We go from lose.....to lose again.

The GOPers are just grasping for a new sound bite .. They are the biggest spenders... the kind of spenders which only feed the rich and invest in nothing else. And as we all know they have no ability to admit their mistakes nor do they have any new ideas.

There is plenty to criticize in this new budget to be sure...but listening to the GOP PR (The least credible people in the known universe) machine is no way to go about sorting out the details.

To bad that's what our main stream media still does.
