Ups and downs
John Brummett says the political situation looks good for Blanche Lincoln; not so good for the Republican Party.

"Blanche Lincoln - Apparently her opponent will be either . . . Hendren, Griffin, or Curtis Coleman."
Brummett foolishly assumes Miss Blank will have survived Halter in the Democratic primary.

Maher had a good opinion piece in the LATimes on what's next for the Republican Party, but it must make DINO's Blanche and Mark a little paranoid about who do they go along withand support now???

That was a good one docholliday-
>It's sad what's happened to the Republicans. They used to be the party of the big tent; now they're the party of the sideshow attraction, a socially awkward group of mostly white people who speak a language only they understand. Like Trekkies, but paranoid.<
Maher
Again he nails it. But the wood is soft, if not rotten.
If you liked Maher's humorous take on our favorite rich devils try Cafferty's-
" NEW YORK (CNN) -- The Republican Party is becoming a cartoon.
Where to start?"

A front page article in Conway's Log Cabin Democrat says that Gilbert Baker is also considering his options since he is term-limited (thank goodness). He could really go back to work at UCA I guess but it isn't like the ol' days with Lu. I would hope that Preston would win easily over him if he decided to run for Count Judge. I understand that McDonald's has a good management training program.

I think Brummett comments can be boiled down to a saying by a very smart man name Warren Buffet. Course he speaking on another subject, but I think it applies here also. " You don't know whos' wearing a bathing suit til the tide goes out." And getting this woman back in the kitchen is something we as labours should be working on.

Senator Blank needs a primary opponent that is actually a Democrat, and not a closeted GOP'er like her.

"Her biggest problem is that Republicans in the Senate will be offering all kinds of lightning-rod amendments to vital bills this year and next, forcing her to cast liberal-looking votes."
What makes Brummett think anything can force Blanche to cast liberal-looking votes? Her voting arm will still be wired to the Republicans who own her ass. Same for Mark W. Pryor, same for most of the rest of Arkansas legislators. I'd love to see Halter take her out in the primary....she's awfully weak to be a sitting Senator. And every week that Obama shows us the way, Blanche & Mark will look worse and worse, so by primary time 2010, she should get bumped off and sent back to the house.
We need to send Obama some help, not Democrats with a d so tiny that it shows up as an r under the microscope. Blanche deserves a real Democrat challenging her in the primary. Do it!
