Vance wants new attorneys

Curtis Lavelle Vance, in court this morning, told Circuit Judge Chris Piazza that he wasn't happy with the public defense team working on his case. Arkansas News reports that the suspect in the killing of KATV anchor Anne Pressley complained that he didn't learn of the DNA testing linking his hair to the scene from his lawyers but from the media.

“The prosecutors know more about the case than I do … you all got the world thinking I did this,” he said, adding, “I need to see some results.”

Vance's lawyer wants him to get a mental evaluation.

UPDATE: Whoops. Right hand doesn't know what left is doing. Gerard posted. We got this one covered.

This doesn't belong here, but there's nowhere else to put it without its being lost.

People -- NOT the Bushes, NOT the Cheneys, et al. -- are willing to die to serve their country but we won't let them because of archaic religious bigotry and schoolyard bullying.

The USA is the only original NATO country that has yet to integrate gay and lesbian citizens into its Armed Services. Why?

Nothing adverse has happened in those other countries, after all these years. Are American troops so weak, so bigoted, so ignorant . . . no. It's not the troops.

It's our "leaders."

Sickening, to realize our present military officials are mental adolescents more intent on yelling, "Gay! Gay!" than securing the most qualified and dedicated men and women for what is ostensibly the most "advanced" military in the world.

Read clicky. Grow up. This policy is insane.

Surely there would be more DNA evidence than just hair at a brutal rape, beating death. Blood, saliva, skin under nails, sweat, and seman to name but a few.

I have no information other than what has been in the papers and on TV but an innocent man would make statements like the ones Vance is quoted as making.

My appologies to any freinds or family which might read this but something doesn't sound right here.

This is a rather sad game of chess being played by Mr. Vance. His defense counsel are quite competent, despite Mr. Vance's repeated and continued statements to the media.

I think this is a ploy in the plea negotiation, and a setup for an insanity defense. This is the advice I would have given if I were on the team. Still, legally, this man is still innocent in the eyes of the law. I doubt that is the same after his case is fully adjudicated. For the families sake, I hope this trial is closed to the media.

I would imagine that there is more DNA than what is being mentioned at this time. Ever hear of discovery?
Wait until they get him into court !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
