Before I read past the title to the article, I thought, "meth lab."

Having grown up in Franklin County, this about fits the bill for someone from Branch. The meth lab is only a bonus.

I think we have our first nominee for the 2009 Darwin Awards.

Achterberg placed a metal ladder on the pole and tried to siphon the electricity with jumper cables. Achterberg was electrocuted and fell to the ground. Family members said he broke his back, neck, pelvis and his organs were hardened from the electricity, leaving him in critical condition.

Truly remarkable. A man was electrocuted yet lived to tell about it! Death sure ain't what it used to be!

Going to be a long time before this dude is released from a hospital for prosecution. There's always the possibility of a coma.

I'm with scrapper.

Scrapper, i believe you're right.

I really dont understand this. Might I ask what he planned to connect his jumper cables to -- a generator or something? wouldnt you have to have XL jumper cables for that, and wouldnt this whole project be just a little..........conspicuous? or something??

every time I ask questions like this my son always used to tell me to remember that meth use does nothing for brain activity. well, at least nothing good.

Obviously, this individual doesn't read a newspaper or this blog as the same thing happened to a Conway resident within the past year. He didn't survive.
