Asa Hutchinson is right

The Arkansas Project called my attention to a short item in the Morning News this week about a speech by Asa Hutchinson to a Republican group.

Former Congressman Asa Hutchinson wants an independent review of Arkansas' prison system.

Hutchinson called for an outside panel to recommend changes to the state correctional structure during a speech to the Washington County Republican Women.

An escape in May by two convicted murderers, along with other recently-reported problems, is only part of the reason a review is needed, Hutchinson said. A thorough overhaul of the state prison system hasn't been done in more than 30 years, he said.

Yep.

God, I hate it when Asa Hutchinson is right. I get this sharp, shooting pain above my left eye. Luckily, it doesn't happen very often.

Okay, I agree with the need for a review. But where does this guy get the standing to call for it? Shouldn't this be coming from one of our currently elected officials?

First Jerry Cox, now ASA!

Damn, it must be hotter than I thought.

This from a guy who couldn't measure up to the high standards of the Bush administration.

This is sort of like calling a press conference to announce that OXYGEN IS GOOD! But I'm glad Asa can figure out that our prison system needs a good looking at after everything bad but a homemade nuclear weapon has turned up in the last few months. Good call Asa! Wonder where Asa stands on anal cancer?

Hey, it can come from anyone of you. Just don't expect THE MORON NEWS to give you headlines about it. Write them an LTE and if you're lucky 22 days later it will be published.

ASA! is a Stephens favorite.
