Bill Clinton: Jazz man

Brummett happened to catch Bill Clinton being interviewed by Elvis Costello. It prompted a riff on Clinton, both musically and politically as a jazz man; on the state's musical heritage (Levon Helm is in town tonight), and a bit of Father's Day weekend reminiscence of his own father's musical bent.

Hope Levon feels well by tonight's concert. He was so sick in Fayetteville that he never sang or even said a word to the audience. He was reportedly spitting up blood after the concert.

MISTER Brummett mentions Louis Jordon. Rolling Stone listed Jordon, born in Brinkley, as one of
100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
Somewhere in my disarranged collection I have recordigns of Louis' jump blues for which he became famous in his time. Louis was an alto sax man.
