Call him Sen. Franken
The Minnesota Supreme Court says he was elected U.S. senator. By 312 votes.
Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty did tell CNN over the weekend that he was inclined to sign the election certificate if the Supreme Court ruled for Franken. But he hedged a bit, still, saying he'd issue certificate if ordered. The Supreme Court said Franken was "entitled" to receive the certificate, but didn't explicitly order Pawlenty to issue it..
UPDATE: Around 3 p.m., Norm Coleman conceded. The secretary of state says he will sign the election certificate once Pawlenty does. There's a 10-day period in which to seek a rehearing of a Supreme Court decision, but it looks like you can finally turn out the lights on Norm Coleman.

Will Pawlenty sign this IF "they" warn him he'll not be supported in a bid for the R presidential nomination?

There will be a wide field of candidates running against THE ONE. So that makes little difference.
Demos have the Senate, for what that is worth...not much to regular Americans.

Sadly, it's the people of Minnesota who are the real losers -- not because of the naming of Senator Franken, but because of the massive amount of time and taxpayer dollars this took to confirm. What a shame it had to go to the Supreme Court.

...and I just heard Pawlenty "hedge" again, by saying he would not be "in position to defy...and ORDER to sigh." As Max points out, there is NO "order."

In all fairness if Jesus Jim Holt was to have beaten Blanche Lincoln by 300 votes in tiny Arkansas after a disputed recount some folks would be taking it to the extreme, accusations would come a dozen per minute. It would be havoc. Close elections do this. It's truly sad in this era of technology that our elections cannot be trusted to produce accurate results. I'm ready for thumbprint or iris scan voting so long as I control the voting machines.
However, for a description of how far Republicons will go to distort an election check out this
event in a RepubliCon-controlled House district in California.

At last a U.S. Senator who can tell jokes instead of making their position a joke.

According to the huffpo, Norm has conceded and pawlenty will sign the certificate.
On the sanford soap op-pray, he was quoted today as saying he had more contact with his argentina chilipepper than originally confessed to, as well as other I didn't have sex with that woman, make that women, contact...and, after catching his breath, he stated he was trying to fall in love with his wife "again". Oh, Jenny Jenny that is definitely an ouch.

First a wrestler for governor, now a former SNL cast member as U.S. senator.
Thank you Minnesota for knocking Arkansas further down the laughingstock board.

I think this is a sign of how fucked up our country has become. I mean come on...you mean to tell me that Al Franken is now a Senator. Geesh. What is the world coming to? Oh, he is a Liberal Dumb Ass Democrat...so, I guess that is par for the course.

Yeah Catfish, they let tons of dumbasses graduate from Harvard and I think his degree was in higher mathmatics.....any ole sister-FK'er can knock one of those off.
And how about Mrs. Franken, huh? If anyone has an excuse to run off to Argentina for sex, it would be Al....but nope...funny thing, that Liberal Dumb Ass loves his wife unlike a whole slew of smart Republicans that have been in the news lately. Your political party is just sad. When Republicans are born they must ask that the Lawd be conservative when handing out the brains.....oh...and the morals.

Edwards. Clinton. JFK. Spitzer. I could go on dbi...with examples from both parties...but you get the point. Adultry is not limited by party, but it does seem to be limited by sex. We simply need to elect more women to higher office. I find it hard to imagine Ms. Lincoln stealing away for a quickie. Sexual preoccupation or conquest is not to blame for her deficiencies.
