NLR plant closure

The Polymer Group will close its plant in North Little Rock -- acquired from Chicopee in 1995 -- by the spring of 2010. This will mean the loss of some 140 jobs.

The plant has been in operation in North Little Rock since 1956 making bandages, disposable diapers and wipes.

The Admiral's disneyland continues to not shine as brightly as he says. I'm still betting Caterpillar backs off of their big plan. Even though NLR jumped through hoops to help Cat, it is predicted most employees will come from outside NLR's city limits, thereby greatly reducing any sort of benefit.

He continues trudging forward though. Spending money like he's printing it.

And the Polymarin windmill blade plant is delaying startup and the windmill blade plant in the harbor is laying off. Weren't we supposed the be riding the crest of the alternative energy wave with these plants? Weren't they supposed to lead us out of our economic doldrums and show us the way to the bright, shiny city on the hill?

But, by gawd we ain't got no queers adopting & no fracking unions agitating against Blank & LilMarkyMark's masters. And our elites can stay in this state and enjoy the fruits of their daddy's labors and never fear the tax man, thanks to Blank.

Weren't we supposed the be riding the crest of the alternative energy wave with these plants?

I have a cousin who is an engineer and senior management for a major producer of wind turbines. When I spoke to her a couple of months ago she was on her was to a manufacturing plant to begin layoffs. She said that they hadn't sold a turbine since last November. Don't need blades if the turbines aren't selling.
